Talking to and supporting young people about vaping
Who is this module for?
This module is designed for health and community professionals who support young people who vape, including nurses, medical officers, youth workers and allied health professionals.
What you'll learn
This module will help you build the knowledge and confidence to support young people who vape or are experiencing nicotine dependence.
You will learn how to:
- Understand the health risks associated with vaping.
- Recognise the challenges young people may face when trying to quit and the benefits of quitting.
- Have conversations that address vaping myths and perceived benefits.
- Use the Ask, Advise, Help (AAH) model to understand a young person’s needs and provide appropriate support.
- Connect young people with trusted advice and support services.
