Who is this module for?

This module is for all health professionals who support people who smoke or vape, including medical, nursing, allied health and health promotion practitioners.

This module will help you build the knowledge and skills to support people who smoke or vape.

What you'll learn

You will learn how to:

  • Identify different types of tobacco and vaping products and understand how commonly they are used.
  • Understand the health risks linked to smoking and vaping.
  • Recognise common barriers people face when trying to quit and the health benefits of quitting.
  • Understand the different supports available to help people quit.
  • Use the Ask, Advise, Help (AAH) model to identify a person’s needs and provide appropriate support.
