Smoking and vaping cessation e-learning modules
Improve your knowledge and confidence in supporting people to quit smoking and vaping with our nine free online e-learning modules for health professionals.

Developed by the Cancer Institute NSW and collaborators, these interactive modules give you practical skills and evidence-based guidance support conversations about quitting. The modules include real life scenarios, quizzes and activities to help you apply your learning in everyday practice.
Who are the modules for?
These modules are designed for all professionals who support people who smoke or vape, including those working in healthcare, community and social care settings. This includes:
- Nurses, doctors, pharmacists, dentists, allied health professionals, health promotion practitioners and peer workers.
- Professionals supporting priority populations, including Aboriginal people, young people, pregnant women, people living with mental illness, people who use alcohol and other drugs, and people with chronic health conditions.
- Health professionals who prescribe smoking or vaping cessation medicines.
How to access the modules
You can complete the modules online below. Learn at your own pace and choose the modules most relevant to your role and the people you support.
If you work for NSW Health, it’s recommended to complete the modules through My Health Learning so it is recorded in your learning history. You will receive a certificate on completion, and the modules may contribute towards your Continuous Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
