Self-Esteem

To rid myself of this demon called nicotine addiction, and build my self-esteem via more conscious and positive lifestyle decisions.

Hi christi89, A very good decision. Stick with it and you’ll be rewarded. Good luck.

You have at-least 3 good reasons to quit right there;
If you quit you can expect your self worth to lift, think clearer and make those positive lifestyle choices happen. I found that the smokes clouded my judgement almost as much as prohibited drugs or alcohol.
I would like to see tobacco to be on the prohibited list, it probably will never be, so therefore we have to make a choice. I hope we all choose to make the right decision not to smoke. Smoking Kills

Congrats on your great decision(s). Not only will your body thank you for finally respecting it again, but reward you as well. I think subconsciously we figured it would kill us one day and never gave thought to bettering our lifestyles. But as we age and start to face our mortality we have finally faced our fear , maybe not of dying , but the manner in which we do. I was told i was borderline COPD three years ago, and didn't stop til now by accident, after trying to at least treat my body better in other ways.
I never thought i could quit after more than 40 years, pack a day. But Lordy, Lordy, just had 40........ glorious smoke free days, and feeling great! If i can do it so can anyone. It was not as difficult as i had imagined, and the support groups like this are amazing. Great people who care about one another, encouraging stories, sound advice and 100% behind you all way!
