4 Wonderful Years of Freedom

Yesterday was the 4 year milestone for me. I didn't even acknowledge the date because I no longer think about cigarettes. I only come to reinforce my conviction to never smoke, but also to encourage others to find their reason to quit and the belief that they can do it.
Like most everyone, I did try a few times over the years with no success, and truthfully no belief that I could. After 40 years, I woke one day wanting to give it another go. I joined a quit group, learned alot about nicotine and hence myself. Once I made up my mind to do it (cold turkey) and had looked at the true reason why I had smoked all these years, it was even easy to do. I did not miss what I did not want.
When I realized that the only reason I smoked was to avoid cravings, that it did nothing, it caused more stress if truth be known. Stress on body, health, finances, self -esteem and more.
I decided I wanted to live longer. Life is GOOD. And life is better since quitting smoking. I am no longer having breathing bouts with COPD. I no longer smell, but can smell. I have more energy , exercise and MONEY.
No, I do NOT miss smoking at all. I didn't miss it after the first week. I was just proud of myself and determined to never look back. I am proud of hubby and my daughter who both quit shortly after I did. I guess seeing is believing!
Never give up on this quest. You can do it and it is worth any struggle and effort to get there. I only wish that I had done so years ago.
BELIEVE and BE FREE!

Well done you and on behalf of the many you have helped on their journey including myself thank you!
