SMOKE FREE FOR 58 DAYS

I quit cold turkey. Smoked for 10 years . I thought will getting better but it turns out all of my withdrawals symptoms comes out after 1 months until now .The anxiety, tiredness,cough, sorethroat, pain & discomfort in chest and back & shoulders, .Fell like whole body not mine. I don't feel the craving of cigarettes. Anyone got the same symptoms as me. Anybody help or share experience . Thanks

Could just be that your body is still healing, it takes a while apparently. I'm only on day 3 now but I remember last time I got that far feeling pretty good, more energy etc. The anxiety I can relate to, started having mild panic attacks around this point and went on took some antidepressants which really only made it worse. I've since found out that it takes your brain 3 months to go back to normal after quitting smoking. I say your best bet is to just ride it out and it will eventually go away. How old are you? I doubt it's anything serious. Also good work getting to 58 days mate.

I feel the same.my symptoms comes out 3days after quitting. And it stays a bit longer. I'm 2months free. I'm Still feeling like a zombie xD.. you will be fine.. it gets easier Everyday.

Hi MC20 ! I'm smoke free for 40 days. I also have the same withdrawal symptoms. My anxiety was in peak till now. Tiredness and body ache was still continuing especially when i got up my morning i felt pain in my shoulder and both the arms. I felt tightness in throat too, with swollen tonsil.Do you have any throat pain or swollen thing ? I hope these all will be go away one day. Will come out of this demon. Stay positive.

It must be reassuring to have others confirm the same. I remember sleeping better than ever.! I may have had a few hazy days, but I was so delighted to be free of nicotine , I was happy.
I am sorry I have no quick solve for you. Is it possible that your diets have changed to bad eating habits? Foods can help with anxiety, just as tryptophan helps create melatonin for sleep. Too much caffeine if you haven't cut back since quitting nicotine will affect you adversely. It may be worth a look in those areas.
Congrats on a great start to your quit and remember to keep positive. Everyday does get better!

You're not alone MC20, got the exact same symptoms. Day 56 here. It's like a damn roller coaster, got so tired of this...

Why not check out with the chemist, they will most likely tell you to go to your doctor, but there are herbal remedies for stress which you can try, plus the melatonin for sleep.
Relaxation is one of the best solutions for me, by going through your body slowly and relaxing the muscles brings instant relaxation, I still use this method now and again for other reasons, like the dentist etc. takes about 10-20 mins in the dentist chair, and I do not flex one muscle. I haven't tried the calming app, but there are plenty of calming music online to use.
Nil Coffee for a while and a healthy food intake is one of the best solutions for our bodies during the healing process. The top priority is the mental assertions you use every day for yourself, mine is NOPE (not one puff ever) this re enforces my quit you can label your own mantra but the key is to say it every day either in your head out loud. Give thanks every night before going to sleep for one thing you felt good about during the day - this kept me a happy chappy when I was feeling down.

Thanks ZiggyPop, i m 40 years old. What people say will get better after quit but i feel not so at the moment & many negative thinking.

Hi Aaryan,I also felt tightness in throat sometimes & feel like something inside the throat but cough out is nothing. My cough with green phlegm getting better.

Hi Happiness, i already drink very little coffee as a coffee lover . I mostly drink green tea now. I become a big eater after quitting smoking now & get fatter haha. Agree with u when sleep is better

Hi softly40, I already saw a doctor she told me is normal at least for 3 months to get better a bit. I also find physiotherapy find out why chest , back & sometimes shoulder pain . He told me is normal sport injury pain . Coffee i already take lesser now .

Hi MC20 ! I also have lots of negative thinking from the day i quit. As its peak i cried sometime that i cant control my negative thinking by googling about the symptoms i have and also i have thought of smoking again that the pain will be alrite after smoking. But no ! No single puff again. All will get rid from us. Stay Positive.

there's times when everyone thinks negative, get through those THINKING times and dont smoke.
its just a psychological hurdle we old smokers have to jump over every now and again. people who have never smoked will never understand.

hey bro, i'm coming up to 2 years off the smokes, you've mentioned discomfort and that's exactly what it is at 2 months from my experience,going cold turkey you will feel better and on top of it at 4 months, hang in there, you can do it.

Hi MC20 ! Exact thing what i'm doing if i have any free time i will think many things and will start googling for each and every thing and will get negative. I will think them as a serious disease, tats what happening. If i do any kind of work also in background i will think about this pain and will get negative that it may be any

Don't overthink it. Don't get into a debate about pros and cons even. You are here. You are determined to quit. When the urge to smoke comes, recognize it for what it is. It' s the nicoman wanting fed. And like a stray dog, if you feed him he will always be nipping at your heels. Turn your mind away and find something else to do. Know that you are taking control now and that you are no longer at his mercy. Deny him and destroy him. He is not a dog, mans best friend. He is the enemy. He will destroy you without hesitation.
While willpower is commendable, changing the way you think about smoking really makes the journey much easier. I also quit cold turkey with no misgivings, and no cravings.
