500 Glorious Days of Freedom

I logged on today to see the significant number of 500. While it is a benchmark, you are quit smoking the moment that you do and accept it. All you have to do is never smoke again. We decide to never do something again without regret or hardship. With the mindset your decision can be that easy too. Embrace the concept of time being in your control, not needing a fix, enjoying events without missing parts to have a fix. Your hard earned money is much better spend on making memories, and better health to enjoy them.
I wish I had joined a quit group like this years ago. To lose the fear and gain the confidence that quitting smoking is possible. Learning how we were brainwashed by society into thinking the addiction was unbreakable and even more drugs introduced so that tobacco companies controlled our purses. Drug companies reaping their profits on top of it now. Stop being a mug. Quit smoking and stop giving them the satisfaction and power. Take Control. I did. You Can.

i'M DOING WELL Red thank you. Still limping but able to resume normally otherwise. I am not missing my license at this time.I walk to see elderly parents (with caution) about a mile away. I do not see anyone else and do my part. Hubby is working, cautious and does the shopping. I hope everyone is well and that we can resume our normal daily life. It will happen faster if everyone does their part. Strengthening our immune systems will help keep us safe. Quitting smoking is probably a large factor . Keep safe everyone. You can quit smoking!

Hi Happiness. 500, a very nice number. Can you believe it? Congratulations! Enjoy the accolades on this site. As you said, it was this site that got you on the quit trail. I too, enjoyed the encouragement nearly 5 years ago. Nothing else worked till BigJon told me about Margaret Thatcher (my craving's name) & what a demon she was. I was so cool when I lit upon the dim dark past. This is how I was brainwashed in the late 60's and early 70's. No doubt you too. It is so much better to be putting $'s saved towards enjoyment of life. And at the moment we know we don't have to reach for an easy way out. The present world wide dilemma cannot be fixed the way we would have dealt with it oh so long ago. In fact, if we were still smokers, there may be a fire truck attending our premises as plumes of smoke may have been rising skywards... Many of us, meanwhile, continue to go from zero to hero...

I'm really happy you have not wavered over your 500 days.
To let my handful of loyal supporters know that I too am still successful of giving up too. I will be free 7 weeks by friday morning.
This COVID -Virus has caused us all a bit of extra worries, but I refuse and will never use any excuse to smoke ever again.
NOPE is how anyone gives up.
I wish everyone hope to stop smoking. Its just the best thing to do!
I'll hope I can Post something nice soon, so we need to stay Stopped

Hi happiness. Thank you for your comments re my slip. I am reading the Allen Carr book again, and getting my mindset back. Small steps big gains. Could you let me know about the ginger and turmeric please? X

Hi happiness thank you for ginger/turmeric recipe, and your understanding.
I’m doing it this time cold turkey. I feel it the best way - no excuses, no
Supporting drug companies- over it. I have no idea where you are in the world, I can relate to your experiences. Thought I’d share this with you. The past is history, the future a mystery, TODAY is a gift - that’s why it’s called THE PRESENT. 🙏🏻
