What a nice surprise. 1700 days smoke free and $39984 saved from the ash tray. Tomorrow it will be over $40000... IT REALLY IS TIME FOR EVERYONE TO QUIT. If anyone thinks it wont happen in their country, think again. Wait long enough and work out how hooked you will be when you no longer can afford to support this habit. Besides, life after quitting means you will inhale and exhale without what feels like developing emphysema. there is a lot to be said for being able to breathe easily. It's the way we did it from birth when we were perfect before we decided to be STUPID. Not an easy road but with friends like we have on this site just so worth the effort.

Congratulations Lia. $40,000 is a lot to just put fire to. What a waste of money, breath and time. It is time to choose wisely.you CAN quit smoking if you CHOOSE to. Stop making endless excuses.

Your story is just what I needed this morning. Not sure why but I woke up a little anxious today. I am only 28 days free but I did jog my dogs yesterday for the first time in a long time without any chest discomfort so that was exciting. Anyways- great job with your freedom and your savings!!

If you have followed my Quit journey and the money i put away each week if i had of still been a smoker
it was phenomenal amount, but with the new price rise i cannot afford to keep putting money away each week, so have stopped
my stashing, i think my smokes now are about $110.00 for a 50gm as when i quit they had just snuck up over the $50.00 mark,
Will check the actual price next time i am at the shops...
Is a huge chunk out of the weekly budget.
