Quick update
Thanks everyone for you lovely comments, sorry it was via nuts great post, hi puff, 4 and 1/2 months on champix, I was cutting them in half and quarters, I wanted to be sure as the actual quit seemed too easy, thanks happiness, all good I have family members with some very bad addiction issues and I am probably too verbal about it, I understand all journeys are different, I struggled with extra time on my hands, didn’t realise smoking was a full time job, felt up and down along the way, I think it was all part of change and process, been busy doing lots of exercise and travelling, possibly drinking a bit more than previously but that too has now been addressed, it is a constant work in progress. I am glad I did not replace one bad habit with another, fortunately I did not miss the hand to mouth action much. I am concerned about the possible effects of vaping, we just don’t know enough. And luckily I didn’t like it. And it’s just so nice to breathe, just breathe, keep well and smoke free everyone

You stayed on the Champix (verenicline) for longer than the prescribed 12 week program. I would imagine that if any body on the program doesnt feel confident to stop the champix, would go back to the doctor for another prescription.
It just goes to show that there are many different strategy's and methods to Quit!
AS said before, Welcome back Broncor and I hope you intend to stick around. The New Year Resolution of Quitting Smoking will begin and I hope everyone will give encouragement and support.
No matter how long it took, you did not abuse the drug while quitting but focused on a well timed plan that you thought met your needs. We stress that every individual is different and sees things in a different light. No matter that is what makes you , you.
I think it is agreed that anything inhaled would not be beneficial, especially after already successfully quitting smoking. It would likely involve memories best forgotten. However, if e-cigs were used with the intention of a quit as a last resort having joined and tried several times or someone having to quit by doctors orders immediately because their life is in jeopardy, then it would perhaps be the lesser of two evils. The new delivery of nicotine systems have not been around long enough to support, in my opinion. I would definitely advise them to make a plan to wean themselves off and stay in touch with our forum.
Different topics can bring up strong feelings and opinions. I did not mean to upset you, but glad that you understand because I was thinking of switching bad habits, but not as a smoking substitution. I also got to like my alcohol a bit to much and had to address it. Cutting back is the sensible answer.
You are right about it being great to breathe again. I have never had another bout of shortness of breath since quitting smoking.
Glad things are going well with you. You deserve it.
A big well done from me Broncor, You used Champix in your own way, which I did too. I only had the morning dose, and still haven't used them all. The continued maintenance is now on the agenda, and as our lives are so filled up with different pressures at Christmas time. It is at these times, we need to keep our reasons for giving up close to us, and remain vigilant throughout the whole of the Christmas period and beyond. Keep happy and strong

lol. I had to let you know of her 1 year anniversary. Despite my failures, we are all Quit buddies.
We are heading up north to forster 15 jan for a few days. wouldnt it be funny if we met for a picnic on the beach at old bar or laureten with your family and mine. Probably wont happen, but its possible?
