We are the people who have found our Quit!

Its hard to gather my thoughts to literately help someone who needs advice. Everyone seems to be moving in a positive direction. some have moved into no-smoking territory, stay strong Gemma & Jess. Swap & Chapter have things sorted and keep your great work up please. We've come to realise that we all have to work along-side others who smoke in front of us sometimes and we dont worry or want what they have.
The American presidency is all-but sorted now.
Covid Pandemic seems under control in our southern hemisphere atleast!
All we have to concentrate on is NOPE.
If we all practise nope and dont smoke,,,,,,we will be alright. Alright! Have we all got it team?
Be brave.
Take it to heart.
And most of all dont let that sneaky NICOtine talk you out of it,. The withdrawal from the drug is nasty for a few days or for some a few weeks. The rest is a mind game..
join me.
kind regards
i PuffNoMore

Well said Puffnomore. Congrats on your own journey. Isn't it interesting that the meaning of the word quitter has a negative connotation ewerywhere except on this forum?
NOPE it is. Cheers.

We are quitters, but we are never quitters. We always manage to pull through adversaries. When we think it through and choose a path to follow, we can succeed.
I love food and I love to eat but have had to change my way of eating . Quitting smoking was easier. It is not like I can decide to just quit eating. Eating is not an addiction but a necessity so I have to deal with it three times a day! I am in normal range now after losing 30 pounds in the last 9 months and had wagered that I would lose 5 more by the years end. I have 2 to 2.8 pounds to go. I lost about 2.5 last month instead of a pound a week. While I could have a little more variation, I found it was easier to just stick with the menu I first created and worked....no temptations! I have always said it was easier to just rip the bandage off than to suffer the pain. So I am going back to the tried and true way, It was simple, it was tasty and I was getting great results. I feel so good about my current success that I am opting to lose another 12 lbs over the next year. I am considering even to do it by April Fools instead of over twelve months.
We can do what we put our minds to and it gets easier and is easier when we are happy about our decisions. I also walk or exercise 2 hours a day which I was allergic to. Now it makes me feel good and energetic. Choose good habits as a way of life! You won't regret it.

Well said Puffnomore, yes we can congratulate ourselves as we go through our own journey of quitting those addictive Nicotine sticks. It seems as if we are going to have a little more normality than before, and we can all benefit from this. I agree NOPE (not one puff ever) worked for me, along with this forum. Happy days ahead

Thanks puffnomore 8ts been a bit tricky recently I am determine to beat it.
It's such a mind game yes and that nicotine 8s so so nasty and it gets you so so easy. But no more. It has to be done now.

I read somewhere that it takes the average person 7 attempts to Quit permanently!
Maybe some can take solace from the fact that Quitting the smokes is not easy, but, I rather fancy the idea that Allen Carr poses in his book that Quitting smoking can be easy.
Sending positive vibes to you guys re-starting your journey.

Thanks
I am not starting from now and will keep striving forward to be that non smoker again.
It is all mind game I do no that. But I done.it once I can do it again.

If it makes you feel better Gemma? I was in a similar position as you this time last year.
My mates here said that if 2019 was not to be my time or my year, that 2020 was to be my year. They were so right and tomorrow night I graduate to 300 yes,,, Three Hundred Day's absolutely smoke free.
I cant thank the people here enough and I am wishing you the best and all others on their journey's.

Wow, PuffNoMore...300 days!!! A huge Congratulations! You were a hard nut to crack....lol. I felt your anguish, and I also felt such DESIRE but I put it down to not believing in yourself then. Even now , I can't blame you for not thinking it can be easy. It need not be just a wish...it CAN be easy. I know first hand.
How many times does one say they "tried" to quit smoking? Several no doubt. But how hard did they try? Did they have any idea of the mindset? Did they know that after the nicotine addiction comes the psychological challenge? Did they have the understanding and support of others like us who know how they feel? I certainly didn't. This was the first time with any understanding and support for me. I think forums like this make a difference for those who are serious.
I am glad you persevered PuffNoMore and others who believed it was a fight worth winning. I want others to find it easy as as did. I will keep trying to do just that. Anyone can quit smoking...you are proof!

Thankyou for your support puff no more, and congratulations on your 300 days of being smoke free that’s fantastic,an inspiration to us all

Hi to you Steve. I'm hearing that the pandemic is not getting any better in your neck of the woods? Hang in there mate and stay strong. Dont let anything stop your decision of Quitting. I think you have smashed through 4 month's, if my memory serves me correctly?
AND
To Happiness. Yes, I couldn't quite grasp that concept of the Mindset properly, until you put me onto Allen Carrs book. Thank you so much for that sis. That mindset for me gave me new tools like a newly found 'Self Belief' AND an underlining loss of fear in the purging process. It meant that I was to not smoke after my planned very last smoke 'No Matter What' I borrowed that mantra off Battlewon, I think?
And
I borrowed the" I Dont Smoke" mantra off Dstfry.
Forums like these do make a world of difference.
