The online forum will put you in touch with a supportive community of other people who are sharing your journey. You’ll hear from those who are also in the process of quitting and learn tips for staying smoke free from others who have already quit.

Report Problems
If you see something that breaks these rules, use the ‘Report’ button or contact us at prevention@cancer.nsw.gov.au. We’ll handle it quickly and privately.

1. Be kind
- Treat everyone with respect. No bullying, name-calling, or rude comments. Everyone’s journey is different - let’s celebrate that.
2. Support each other
- Share helpful advice, encouragement, and kind words. Don’t post things that might make others feel bad or give up.
3. Protect privacy
Don’t share personal details like your full name, address, phone number, or email or other information that could identify you. If moderators see information in the forum that could identify you, they will hide or delete the post to protect your privacy. If this happens, the moderator will contact you. Respect other people’s privacy and don’t share their details either.
4. Keep it safe and relevant
- Stick to topics about quitting smoking or your experiences. Do not post:
Offensive, rude, or inappropriate content.
Spam, ads, or self-promotion.
Health advice unless it’s backed by trusted experts.
5. Use friendly language
- No swearing, hate speech, or graphic language. Write in a way that everyone can feel comfortable reading and joining in.
6. Don’t share third-party or illegal material
Don’t post links to illegal websites, harmful content, or copyrighted material you don’t own. Avoid sharing third-party materials, like articles or videos, without permission or proper credit.
8. Respect moderators
Moderators are here to help keep the forum safe and enjoyable. Follow their guidance. Breaking the rules could mean your post is removed, or you may lose access to the forum.
