How long did it take you to quit?

I’m on day 16 and still smoking! Today I didn’t smoke all day but have had 2 tonight. I feel like I’m failing at this and going to just keep smoking through the bad taste and not enjoying it because of the damn habit!

Welcome back Sami. I hope you are in a better place in life now and putting yourself first. You can quit smoking if you stick close to the forum and put quitting smoking as a priority. I hope you have been following us for awhile. A lot of support and great advice from this current group of members. You are not alone here and we hope you will soon believe that you too can quit smoking. Think positive! The champix will do its part but you do need to learn the mindset to go along with it. When you understand how you were duped and smoking does not do anything for you, you can view it differently and let it go. Read Allan Carr, watch videos, and read our posts. You can quit smoking.

In answer to your question, I was free of cravings for the nicotine after 3 days cold turkey. After that , no cravings, it was easy because I knew I could quit and WANTED to quit. I did have a dream of smoking and sometimes the thought of smoking would pop in unwanted, but I would laugh to myself and be proud that I was a non-smoker. No way would I go back to bondage.

Hi Sami, refocus...ask yourself do you really want to quit...how strong is your desire to rid your life of this habit? If you yours your mind in the right way you can not only quit but do it easily....this is true. You just have to want to quit so strongly that this desire overrides any thought, desire or temptation to smoke. You could have a pack of smokes on front of you and have no desire to even pick it up.....that means your desire to not smoke ever again is greater than anything else.
Take it one day at a time and make everyday smoke free your motivation ....... you can do this.
