Another anniversary

Posted in Staying quit 10 Jun 2019

Hi everyone. I want to apologize to all of you. I haven't been able to be on here lately to lend support. Trying to get ready to move has kept me busy.

Tomorrow (6/10) is the 6 month anniversary of the day I had my last cigarette. I couldn't have done it without all of you . You're an amazing group of people. I have had some ups and downs the last half year, but I haven't smoked and for that I am proud. My kids and grandkids are proud, too.

And, we just got a new granddaughter 3 days ago, so now I can enjoy her, smoke free! And, God willing, for years and years to come!

    P. S. My husband found a job and we found an apartment to move to. It's much smaller than where we are at present but it's a roof over our heads.

Congratulations BethP on your quit success and your new granddaughter. Your new place I am sure will be filled with love and fresh air. No more smoke smells. Well done for staying strong throughout your struggles. We will always be here for you👍😊

Yes, I agree, such an amazing group of people.
Ad a new grand baby - you can hug and kiss her to pieces without worrying about smelling of cigarette smoke!

  • BethP June 10, 2019 | 15:01
If only she lived closer, Auspark! But, since we're both non-smokers now, we will be saving for a couple of plane tickets. Or a really nice rental car. Thanks for your support! 😀

Leanne, thanks to you as well. You're quite the cheerleader.

Hi BethP, funny how life turns out, you have stayed the course with your quit, been blessed with a new grand daughter and your husband now has a! Some times when the chips are down....a new chapter arises and gives us another reason to stay positive. Well done to you....enjoy all these great things in your life and be happy and healthy.

I am doing my best to stay the course, stay positive and count my blessings. I am very sad about having to move but I am even trying to make the best of that. I am breathing better, have more energy, and have totally recovered from my surgery. Life is good.

Congrats Beth. I am really glad that things are going well for you. You deserve it. 6 months is fantastic. I am not far behind you. Congrats on your new grandbaby 😚🤗♥️

Thank you, Nuts. If I can quit, anyone can. Good luck to you!

I too am happy that things are looking brighter for you beth. I must admit that in your early days I didnt think you'd pull through (not smoking wise). Even your physical health was a concern for me. Thankfully You have turned most of your problems around. 6 month's of your determination has turned things around for the better. You have been a great advocate and example of whats possible possible, even if you got a head start in hospital. SMOKING does kill motivation

Thank you so much, PuffNoMore. I feel as if I have but through a lot physically, especially the last 6 months. But, I thank God for amazing doctors and nurses. And, having the ability to stay quit. Plus, having a forum like this, of wonderful people, has also been a God Send.

I am thrilled for you and all the positives finally happening in your life BethP. I never had a doubt that you would succeed. You started out with the one big advantage..positive thinking.
I do hope you managed to find hubby's job close to the new place you have found. Congratulations on your new grandchild and of course your admirable success on this fantastic journey to freedom. I hereby declare you a happy non-smoker! May your life be full of joy and happiness, and free of cigarettes and debt!
Cheers to your health, wealth and wisdom.

Wow Happiness! Such nice words. The best part is that I know you all mean exactly what you are saying to me. I really don't think I could have achieved this goal without all of you. I see how you all lift everyone up. You never judge. If someone slips and has a smoke, you don't chastise them. You are there to support, and I think it's awesome.

    GREAT !! 6 months ! Go you !
No reason to ever even think of having another one. KNOW, that you are a FREE non smoker.. :)
I saw your location, in auspark's story.. I would love to get over there, to see the Spruce Goose.. They put it just about as far away from me as possible. :(
  • BethP June 11, 2019 | 2:54
I really hope you get a chance to come and visit, Red-67. The Northwest is absolutely beautiful. I don't think I would want to live anywhere else. I truly do consider myself to be a non-smoker. That being said, I do still have flashes where I will feel like I want a smoke. It goes away as fast as it comes on, thank goodness. I hope you are doing well.
  • Safe2017 June 11, 2019 | 11:15
BethP, as an old saying goes - when a door closes, a window opens up somewhere. Looks like things are on an upswing and I hope that everything will keep getting better and better for you and your family. Stay smoke free. All the best.
  • BethP June 11, 2019 | 11:43
Thanks again to all of you. It makes me smile to read your kind words of support. It's an amazing community of people we have here.
  • Robn June 11, 2019 | 12:59

We won't worry about you if you can't spend time with us while getting packed and settled. I know you will stay strong and smoke free. Hurry back when you can!
  • BethP June 11, 2019 | 15:06
Thanks, Happiness. It may be a couple of weeks. But I will be back and rest assured, no smoking.
