196 days smoke free and feeling soo good 🙂. First few weeks were tuff but hang in there it really does get easier. I don't really think about smoking anymore and after 40 a day for 40 yrs not a bad achievement 🤗 Just booked 6 week holiday in Europe with the money I have saved and best bit is I don't have to worry about a 23hr smoke free flight 👍

So proud of you. You did it! Enjoy Europe. I will get there, I am only on day 4, but your victory is such a great accomplishment and gives me hope

Hey Turnip :) You got this.. Don't even think you ever want another one :)
Wow, I probably only averaged 20 - 25 a day, but, in 45 years, that comes to about 1500 days of my life, with a cigarette, in hand, or mouth ! DUH.. When the smoke clears from the brain, we can look back at the pure insanity of it :)

    Thanks guys.
OrangeRose, I think finding what works for you is the key. Yes we all want to quit but we are all so different . I listened to a lot of advice and tips and I tried many. I focused on what I was gaining not missing out on.For me it was lots of water, jigsaw puzzles on hand to keep my hands busy and the Smoke free app that sends notifications of your progress. I set up the money transfer so I could see my money grow and I rewarded myself with a massage and facial at the end of every month I remained smoke free . And now I am off to Europe 🤗 Set yourself small goals and remember to reward yourself often, you can do this 👍

Congrats Turnip, well deserved vacation in Europe. Where in Europe? I just flew in transatlantic flight and it’s som much easier to fly not having any cravings. Enjoy your trip and stay vigilant.

    Wow Turnip, that's fantastic!
I'm so much like yourself. Today marks 198 days smoke free for me & I just returned from a 2 week trip to Belgium with no hesitations or worries about surviving the 23 hour flight & frantically finding somewhere to light up at one of the quick stopovers. I even had a couple of drinks on the flight, something I would not have even contemplated when I was a smoker.
Europe is full of smokers, it's unbelievable! It was actually quite intense & I found it almost suffocating at some instances, yet there were times as well when I could have easily joined in & lit up especially sitting at one of the outdoor cafes overlooking the magnificent views.
There are occasions when I still have those cravings, some days worse than others but it passes quickly & I find things to distract me & then there are these wonderful days (most of the time now) when I can go all day without even thinking about it.

Enjoy your much deserved holiday, you will absolutely have the most amazing time. I hope you get to Belgium & enjoy their awesome beer, waffles & chocolate.....yum!

Good for you Turnip. Travel was one of the main reasons I gave up. I had trouble keeping up with tour groups and even had to pull out of a couple because I couldn't breath properly. I was disgusted in myself! and I was still smoking at the time. I must have looked pathetic! Anyway not now! I am nearly 6 months smoke free and have yet to enjoy, lol, the 23 hour long flight without hanging out for a smoke! There are definitely benefits of being a non smoker! Enjoy your holiday!
