Mind over matter

Six years ago I put the ciggies down and went cold turkey. Have not had a puff since. I made a date a month ahead and then each week cut smoking in half ending up with 5 a day for the last week. On the day I ate an apple every time I felt like a smoke. You don't crave a ciggie if you've just eaten an apple. Six years later I still have an apple before I go to bed. Smoke doesn't bother me. My smell, taste and breathing improved after a week and I'm lucky I don't even have a cough. If I could do it after smoking 20 ciggies a day for 50 years anybody can. I love having my life back as I never realised how much time, money and effort it took. Now I have a good holiday every year on the money saved. Try it one day at a time. It's worth it.

Many of us here do believe it is mind over matter. And I often have strips of celery and carrot to hold between my redundant smoking fingers.
I dont smoke-NO MATTER WHAT!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away and I am glad when people replace the habit with a good ritual. Congratulations on finding your way to freedom and enjoying the good life.. Cutting down , but not to extreme is a good solid plan. I did it quickly and found that that was the hardest part. Jumping to cold turkey was much easier than 2 a day. We can down a lot just being mindful. How many have we smoked without any thought?
We can smoke when we plan ahead and think positive.

I need to check before I hit post. Of course you all know what I mean, after all this is a quit smoking site!
