Well this year november will be ten years since i stopped smoking after suffering a heart attack dont even miss it saved a lot of money and i have more energy than i had when i was younger. Just a bit of friendly advice give it up save a lot of money feel better and potentially save your life , you really can enjoy life again without it , i thought i couldnt enjoy life without my smokes but you can. Mind you it was the hardest thing i have had to do but after a couple of weeks it gets easier.

It is surprising how quickly the desire to smoke ceases when we are enjoying the new found energy and freedom from smoking. Giving thanks that we escaped instead of mourning the old albatross. No more quilt from smoking, More money to spend on more enjoyable things and health to do so. Just so many simple reasons to quit and none to continue smoking. Only fear stopped us.......silly us!

It is wonderful to hear from a 10 year quitter. Thanks for sharing.

Thankyou so much for coming back to celebrate with us, 10 years is something to strive for, so congratulations. I looked back at your posts and see you had strong reasons to enable your quit, and the advice given then was to look after yourself if health is the main catalyst.

It is so true, we are afraid when health is up close and uncomfortable, we don't want to get to that point ourselves, our fears help us in this situation to begin with, but as we gain momentum these fears are not the prime consideration anymore, we realize what a wonderful and happy life we can and should have, and our commitment becomes stronger within ourselves.

Unfounded fears are sometimes the cause of people not even starting or cause anxiety without any understanding that if we research the toxic chemicals and recognise the hold that Nicotine has over us, we can overcome this scourge that is allowed to be sold over the counter and is too easy to fall into its trap. Once we have this understanding and have belief in ourselves, we can embrace our quit and look after our mental health.

At the beginning of your journey I bet you could not believe where you are now. What a great achievement, one heartfelt success story thankyou.
