Costly and unnecessary spending

In the past the cost of cigarettes was never a motivating factor for me to give it up. I would find the money and just go without other things.

However it was annoying at times that I didn't have a certain something and just had to improvise. I calculated today. I would have purchased 14 packets of cigarettes by now at an average cost of $40 per packet. Wow that's $560 i have saved. That's a new dress new shoes and more. It really is a waste of money when you could be spending your money on fun things like holidays and massages.

I still have the thoughts of...oh I'll just have one!!! But NO I will not because I know where that leads to. I remind myself of my health and how much better I feel..And of course no stale smoke stench in your clothes or breath or bedsheets. Keep going. It only gets easier as time goes buy. Every day the desire is less frequent. The mind is a powerful thing. Call upon it. You are able to beat the nicotine addiction.

Yep, that's a lot of money gone up in smoke! I don't even want to think of the pile of ash and how much I sacrificed for it. I would cry. When I think how frugally we lived because we both smoked. Still, things were good , but not nearly as good as they could have been. Today, we pay the ulimate price with our health.

On the positive side, we have come to our senses, have come to believe in ourselves, and can make up some lost time going ahead.

Congratulations for thinking and acting in a positive manner. You got this!
