schedule 8 Apr 2020

I quit one year ago. I found this site most helpful when I was struggling. I didn't fight smoking thoughts. I surfed them like riding a wave. I did tai chi too. I would take the smoking thought into a ball near my chest and then push the thought into the room. then I would do something for ten minutes. I did lots of colouring-in. Then I used the coloured pictures to make origami boxes. I knit and crochet. My Daughter is wearing a red jumper that I made totally smoke-free. Until this last few months I was actually losing weight. This months diet regime is to have smaller serves. I still need to lose five kilos to be in a healthy weight range. But in saying that I should credit myself and my Husband because I have lost ten kilos this past year.

I am reducing my antipsychotic medications. That would not be possible unless I could demonstrate that I am emotionally stable. I am now reducing the amount of lozenges I am having. It doesn't seem like a year. I take it one day at a time. If your new or struggling just keep going with what you find works. Acquire skills from others and delay, sip water, do something else and deep breathe. That's the four D's. You also need to know N.O.P.E. Not One Puff Ever. I weaned myself from cigarettes. It was a long drawn out process that I don't recommend to anyone. Still it's done now. I'm glad it's over.

Happy birthday to the new PenelopeJane. I am so proud of you for enduring your long journey. You did it your way and won. I am glad you are in better health and staying active. I wish I had your creativity. You may also want to try lavender oil to relax. I hope to hear soon that you kick the nicotine lozenges out of your life too. They too can become addictive. Take back control. You rock.
