So Far So Good

When I originally joined the iCanQuit site I was very pessimistic on my success. Being a 20+ cigarette smoker for 30 years with very little will power made me think I was no chance of being able to quit.
But I'm a month in & although I know there's a long way to go (I quit for 9 months 20 years ago) I'm confident I can beat this stupid addiction. I put my success down to the messages I received from other quitters prior & just after my quit date. This is a really good site for people like us & I appreciate the time total strangers took to help me. If I can help anyone in the future pls contact me, I really believe if I can do it anyone can.

One month already tigerjim! gosh time flies. Your first story was terrific, with all of the great comments you received. I got pumped from all of the good advice from it and now I'm into my 3rd week and doing fine,.
Keep the great work going buddy. I know I am.

wE ALL THOUGHT THAT WE WERE DIE HARD SMOKERS. fORTUNATLY we allowed ourselves to TAKE OUR HEADS OUT OF THE SAND AND SEE THE LIGHT. We know that it is possible to save ourselves and stay free! Good to know you HAVE ALSO SEEN THE TRUTH.
you know what really impressed me as a non smoker? it was that i could go and see an opera or concert with my partner and not cough every 3 minutes then rush outside half way through for a quick lungie - eleven years clean and i can hug a girl and not stink of nicotine an turn her off !!!!!!!!!!

Keep up the good work with me buddy.
Stay off the smoke and you will run into the mindset.
Its easier when you believe in it.

Good on you tigerjim. One month is awesome going!
A cigarette is the only consumer product which, when used as directed, kills its consumer.
I deserve better, you deserve better. If the going gets tough, get angry!
