3 months today

Well fellow quitters its my 3 month anniversary today! I'm so happy being a non smoker and I understand from what I've read that heavy smokers feel the best ...I've saved $5,500 and not smoked 3,600cigarettes frightening numbers.
I've been off the patches since week 6 (4weeks on full and 2weeks on a half) still have the occasional gum if I'm having a bad day which I've had this last week, not sure why I've had more thoughts of smoking maybe this anniversary has been on my mind?
Those just starting know your days get better and easier I've survived the constipation and vivid dreams still have the occasional mouth ulcer and am 4kgs heavier. Its all worth it for the exhilaration of waking up to face the day as smoke free!!!
I can breathe easier and have so much more energy so have upped my exercise to address the weight gain. I understand that the gain tapers off now so hope that's true.
This forum is such a great tool for staying on track. Thankyou all for your insights it helps so much.
Happy quitting everyone.

That’s awesome FreshAirOk, $5500 is a small fortune not wasted. And from here on out it will only get better and easier for you. You really ought to be proud of yourself but stay vigilant cause nicodemon is a sneaky one. Good luck and congrats.

Hey how good are you FreshAirOk, that's brilliant, we all have those weeks, but don't let them phase you too much, I put words on my phone each day (in notes) when I know things are getting stressful, starting with I believe. You are tricking the Nicotine rather than the other way around. Keep on reading and posting it seems to work for you. Congratulations.

Your'e doing GREAT FreshAirOK, keep learning and posting! It makes us feel good to support and encourage others as well as feeling exuberant in starting another day smoke -free. There are times when we are reminded of our past smoking, but as long as you just let the thought go rather than dwell on it and start "missing" the relationship, you will get past it smoothly. I always just reflect on how much my life has changed for the better and that i never want to go back to being nicoteen's slave.
Embrace the journey and be exhilarated!

Hi FreshAirOK. You were indeed a serious smoker. I am glad for you that you have resisted the urge to burn more money and turn it into ash. Can you imagine yourself trying to save over $5000 in 3 months and then putting a match to it? Probably not! That's the kind of thing we all have been doing. Guess we got sick of it...
