Busy but still smoke free

I have been very busy organizing my Artwork for Exhibition plus socialising with family and more. Pleased to say 27 days smoke free. I know if I succumb to the nicotine habit just once it will keep me enslaved forever.

Hi softly40, congrats on 27 days, that is an awesome achievement, bcos the start is the hardest. If you can do 27 days, you can do 27 more....... Just firmly set your eyes on the prize and whenever thoughts of smoking pop into your head, just push them out straight away, smoking brings you nothing good. One puff my friend can send you straight on back, despise those smokes for the poison they are. Hang in there, you are doing great and you've got this!!!!๐๐

Thanks Leeann Good to get some support. I must say I thought about really wanting one but never acted on it. I had a very full week but the family gathering was more stressful than anything else. Taking it easy today.

That is good, we all have stress unfortunately as it is a part of life. I think we just have to learn new coping mechanisms to manage those times. You are still in the hard stage too at the moment. Good for you for not acting on the cravings, just keep busy or choose relaxing things to do, whichever helps you get through each day. Also try not to think too far ahead, just focus on getting through one day at a time๐

hi softly40,
your doing a great job of not acting on those cravings. they are only thoughts, but those thoughts can bend our minds especially under stress.
some swear by the NOPE mantra.
Its the best mantra ever...No matter what stress or strains.
.NOT ONE PUFF EVER
It is after all A MIND GAME.
You've got this covered, Dont go back, stay resolute to your plan, 21 days is about the time many ex-smokers say they are over the dirty habit!
CONTINUE TO DEFLECT THE URGE.

Thanks Puffnomore. I made a mistake its 28 days smoke free. Thanks for the advice, I kind of said things like nope, like "no more" a bit like your title "Puff No More" I have noticed some people gave a name like "nicotine monster" I wouldn't mind a name but not sure of monster maybe someone can come up with another. I know its early days but I have a good feeling about this now and will keep reading on this site.

Do keep reading on this sight and all you can Softly. It retrains the brain to a new way of life and acceptance of living as a non-smoker. Some fight it, and resort to smoking once again. It is a powerful drug, and as others have warned NOPE for a reason. Do not tempt fate. Learn and stay free. Live life to the fullest as a happy non-smoker!
