Health

Have smoked for about 30years. Been contemplating quitting smoking for a while. Had a major health scare 2 weeks ago. Haven't smoked since using a patch every other day. Some days are harder than others. Feels strange but good being a non smoker. Not too many cravings but definitely eating more which scares me as I don't want to put on weight. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you overcome this?

Lose the weight later but try to eat whole foods which tend to be less in calories. Fresh fruits and veggies will still cost less than cigarettes and are a reward for our poor abused bodies. Exercise will also raise dopamine and lessen cravings while further strengthening our bodies. You are going to feel fantastic about the new you!

Its fantastic you have decided to Quit this time. I noticed you joined this group almost 4 years ago. I totally believe you have been procrastinating and continually finding excuses to continue to smoke, or as you put it, "Been contemplating quitting smoking for a while." unquote.
But thats ok.
Because thats what we all did.
I use a mantra in my head Its: NO MATTER WHAT - I DONT SMOKE.
NO MORE EXCUSES
THE PARTY IS OVER.
I really hope you find the way.
stay strong.
