wow $31,740 not spent on smokes
Just over 2 years smoke free and I have NOT spent over $30,000 on smokes OMG WTF. People say wow you have saved $30,000 ...no but I have been able to live. Since I have stopped my bills are now all up to date, I don't have sleepless nights wondering how I am going to pay my bills and buy cigs. No more your "Account is Overdue" no more final notices..... the relief is unbelievable. I stopped smoked when a packet of 40 smokes cost just over $40 OMG the local supermarket are selling then for $55. When I saw this I actually cried cause I remember how much each increase in price affected me. So to all you newbies you can do it, I smoked for 34 years and now smoke free for 2 years. I am finally doing want I want to do ….travel, went on an overseas trip this year, nearly paid my trip next year and dreaming the next
Congratulations and I can only hope that your story can stir others, especially the young ones to quit. Better yet, not to start. At that price i find it surprising that they do. Unfortunately i think vaping is becoming the thing and i believe health is at risk with that too. God gave us a body that looks after itself with its army of cells, each with its job that smoking disrupts. We can all tell you how our breathing improves and other body changes once we quit and heal.
Quitting is really as easy or hard as you make it, but you only need to do it once. Learning the mindset will help you to quit and to stay quit. Learn to want to be smoke free and desire it more than having that cigarette. Cravings do go away whether you light up or not. You have cravings as a smoker several times a day. Say no and be free!
Congrats. The money saved is an awesome motivator but not stinking like an ashtray is a big plus too. Cheers
Good post this is it.. As you say the cigarettes are unbelievably high in price. It's great to feel so free from the addiction which was holding us back from truly living the life we were meant to live.
The relief of not worrying about money was truly liberating for me too. This is and was the great motivator to start with, which I adopted to begin with, the other overwhelming one for me was my own self respect and needing to join in with others without any recrimination.
