Round about 2years ago, I gave up. Cruising through life until July this year when I had a massive heart attack needing 2stents, all good now, back at work starting cardiac rehab today. It’s never to late, has been a wake up call. The damage was already there, lucky for me there is no muscle damage to the heart, I urge you all to keep going and get checked out by your doctors. Cheers

Hello again kc. A pretty good reason to stay away from the smokes, it seems you are doing well too. Very lucky and thanks for staying in touch with us all.

Hi Kc. I wasn't sure how to interpret your story or comment "I gave up 2 years ago". I see you tried champix back in 2012 but no post since so I assume that you gave up trying to quit smoking. You were lucky that it was not too late and that major damage or worse was done. I hope you are back to try quitting again. Of course, I may be wrong and you are 2 years quit and found out the damage was caused years ago. Either way, I am glad you were lucky enough to escape without life changing limitations. Life is good without the smokes, and the body does its best to heal the damage we have done. That in itself could be the difference between life and death.

Anyone can quit smoking with all the tools and support at your fingertips. Knowledge is power and a belief in yourself can get you through the single most beneficial change that you could ever make in your life.

I was happy for your reply stating that you have been smoke-free for over two years now. It goes to show that you can quit smoking if you don't quit trying. Desiring an outcome and believing that you can do it will guide you. Thanks for sharing your story and concerns. Congrats on two years and happy endings.
