Day 9 - it gets easier

Hi Everyone,
I want to start off by saying if it wasn't for the encouragement of the wonderful people on here I would have cracked in the first week. Thank you to everyone who responded to me in my moment of weakness. I'm into day 9 and I have to say it gets a little easier everyday however I still get cravings like I'm sure you guys do.
When I'm at my weakest I take out my phone and look at pictures of my 2 year old boy, I get a little emotional each time I look at these pics, then I get angry at myself for craving a cigarette. I just have to tell myself this short term pain I'm going through will allow me to live to see my little boy grow up. Stay Strong everyone and remember you are not alone on this journey.

Hi Brayboy congratulations on doing so well, you hang in there mate. Please don't beat yourself up from experiencing cravings, it happens to us all. I'm really really proud of you so lift your chin up and be proud of yourself for braving this wise choice😊 I've fallen off the wagon after achieving 11 months. Day 1 tomorrow for me😥

thanks Leann, best of luck with your next attempt. 11 months is awesome so you can clearly do it!

Looks like you have a great motivation to give up for, well done so far. I still get minor cravings, but I am 78 days free so it could be other reasons. I didn't find it a breeze either, like some people but my mental process for quitting is in better place. Keep in touch and well done Bray Boy

Thank you Brayboy I know what I need to do, just need to action it and avoid alcohol, as it bought me undone and it lowered my guard

Well done Bray_boy, you should be proud of your accomplishment. First 9 days are the hardest. I vividly remember those days and wouldn’t want to repeat them. Stay strong and watch your son grow up and set a good example to him. It’s a well known fact that children whose parents smoke are much more likely to pick up smoking addiction too. “Do what I say, not what I do” just doesn’t work with kids because they’ll do what their parents do because parents are their example in life. Cheers

thanks Safe2017. I hear you, growing up my mum smoked, my three older siblings, my grandmother and all my uncles. Not making excuses but that is exactly where I got it from

Your head and heart are both in the right place. Remember that and the days will turn quickly into past days of another era. A brighter future is in the making for you and your boy!
