Health risks and horror

Today I went to a check up appointment for my dental cyst. They said that I should have a procedure removing it after all - dental cystostomy. I can't stop but wonder if me smoking is the reason it all started happening in the first place, but I'm sure it made it worse. So now, with two teeth less and one 'surgery' more I'm laughing at my old self - I started smoking because of stress... Treat your bodies right, guys.

Smoking never made any problem go away or relieve the stress, so good for you for staying the course this time around. I hope you get the situation in hand soon and put it to rest. Only positive action gets positive results.

It’s a proven fact that smoking has effect on the gums. Look at loosing 2 teeth as blessing in disguise. Could’ve been much worse. Good luck Milena.

Welcome milena, you have made one of the best decisions of your life, I am 48 and now with dental implants, I had an issue with braces when I was younger, and then smoking sealed the deal, smoking lines, and the list goes on, all the best with your dental work, but make one thing certain, keep smiling like a beautiful non smoker

I also have awful dental issues due to smoking. Sadly, it's the one thing I don't have insurance to fix. All of my other health issues have been covered, thank God.
I have 8 of my teeth left. Can't afford dentists.
I know I have spent some time today complaining and I apologize. I don't have many friends so I look to this community of awesome people.

Thank you everyone for your warm welcome! Happiness, you are true to your name. Broncor, you made me believe in myself more. Safe2017, I agree, there is a saying where I come from. Literally translated ''luck in unluck'', and the meaning is ''to find luck in unfortunate event'', let's say positive side of things. And BethP, let it out. I know a part of your story and how it feels. I wish you best of luck. You are such a brave person. You also gave me one more reason to be brave about my procedure, be thankful and to continue fighting smoking, thank you! //// If you live near Serbia, come here. We have private dentists here, they are not cheap for our standard, but for foreigners they are. (root canal - 50$ at most - for more than 2 canals)

I actually am in Oregon, in the United States. I could find a dentist to take care of me, but would have to promise to pay every month. We have too many monthly bills so I really can't add another one.

Milena, thank you for your kind words. I think we both have this horrible habit licked but having others to confide in that understands what we're going through, is priceless! Thanks to all of you!
