Hello fellow non-smokers, soon to be non-smokers,

Just days beyond my 3 month mark. This is an accomplishment for me. I have not made it this long so for me, it is huge. I have to say, there are ups and downs. I am getting used to it now. I recently retired and whenever I thought of traveling or visiting someone,, the first thought was how I was going to fit my cig smoking in. How could I survive hours without cigarettes I asked myself.. Now, I can do things I have not been able to do, or even think possible, because of my addiction. I have not yet done anything, but now I can feel free to start looking at where I might want to travel. Some people I don't visit because they don't smoke and they don't understand why I do (or did).

Why do some people think, "... just quit"? It's really not easy (for most) and it takes a huge amount of effort (for most). I guess it "takes a smoker to know a smoker". Those that have not been adicted have no idea I suppose...

Anyway,,, cheers to all of you in this forum. Baby steps sometimes... Even now!! I have moments, but they go away. Health wise,, I knew that some day I just had to quit or it would make me die earlier, so no sense prolonging the inevitable.. No time like the present.. I just had to quit.

Thank you for listening and thank you for this forum. I read older stories and they are very inspiring.

Have an awesome smokeless day everyone!

Sawyer congrats. A big milestone, what a great achievement. Keep it up but be vigilant. Practice NOPE - not one puff ever. From my personal experience andI learned the hard way that one puff will derail a successful quit or two. Finally I am on quit #3 and have no desire to smoke whatsoever.

Good luck and cheers.

Happy travelling wherever you decide to go!
