Nicotine Demon

I have been a smoker on and off since I was 12, both mum and dad smoked so it was easy to sneak a ciggy at anytime pretty much. Now here I am 50 next week and I’m 71 days into being nicotine free again and experiencing the worst aches and pains in my arms and chest imaginable, I can only assume it’s some crazy side effect of quitting cold turkey and I’m riding it out and not letting the pain win and kid me into smoking again! Has anyone else had this experience before?? Would love to know I’m not alone, not imagining it and it will pass like most cravings and negative side effects do with time. Other than that I am feeling so much better and so proud of myself for battling the nicotine demon and winning. I have also reduced my husband’s nicotine intake by showing him it’s hard to quit but not impossible and to think about it before lighting up, half the time now he decides he didn’t really need it and doesn’t light up, every smoke he doesn’t have is a victory too.

Congratulations! Persevere and I hope the issues pass soon, I'm sure they will!

Not imagining. Withdrawal from smoking does have some side-affects and symptoms that do produce all sorts of discomforts. we have to out-ride those feelings forever and those who do become free.

Hope to find this passed or you have checked with your doctor . Not all things are quit related yet there are many quit side effects one can have . However , some symptoms can be something that smoking masked , so like others have mentioned I agree , if it persists and you are concerned , please don’t ignore please see your doctor . I believe you . You know your body best and are aware of it when something is off . Let us know , if this has past now . We care .
Great job on your quit . You are a shining example for your husband . Keep moving >>>forward . You will beat this . BLieve.
