Down to 1 a day

Hi. This is my current situation with smoking. I have just started 14 mg patches and occasional lozenges. I am smoking one cigarette a day in the late afternoon with a cup of tea. It seems that it’s something I enjoy. I tried desperately hard to quit smoking forever but I was buying an occasional pack and smoking lots at a time, then I would try and stop again. It’s been a roller coaster ride.
Anyway I am asking for help and advice with getting rid of this single per day smoke. I really do want to succeed. But I can’t seem to help it and don’t know what to do. I know in my heart I can do it but it’s about getting there.
Thanks for any tips

Hi Cuba.
You may have to suck a lozenge from time to time! Or even a 14mg patch. From my past experience using those is if you notice having hiccups! It's nicotine overload.
Take my advice and don't smoke anything from this moment and you won't be just getting there.
You will be there!
You know what to NOT do.
No smoke

I went on a 21mg patch and lozenges and was smoking 2 per day which went up to 4 which went up to 8, then it was back to a pack a day.
I imagine quitting one per day will be easier than giving up a pack a day.

Well done you. I am down to 3 or 4 a day. That you are down to 1 gives me inspiration. Won't be long now, for either of us.

Thanks nosmoke, I’m just about ready to stop completely and thanks to all for your support. It’s really worth it to be quit for so many reasons, health, and cost being the 2 main ones for me.
