New Beginnings
Its the beginning of a new chapter.
I see it's been very quiet today. Not surprising since we have had a fair number of new starters join us. We know,, and respect that it takes time to get your bearings and to readjust to a new way of living.
Last Wednesday, I visited my sister and brought home two vulnerable kittens. They did not ask for change. Momma abandoned them and we guess them to be about 3-4 days old since they still had their umbilical cords. So tiny and frail, I am sorry to say the runt did not survive, but the sister thrives since 2-3 hour feedings. And now down to content and happy and sleeping through the 7 hour nights........I am more optomistic and elated at the prospect of finally having my little kitty. Fate is strange. The morning I was going to see about adopting a kitten I had my stroke....it was not meant to be. I never have looked for kittens before, they find me.
Fate had me at my sisters on a Thursday rather than a Wednesday. The day making a difference in our judgement as to their mother's abandonment, the coldness that had set in the runt and the size of the little beings.. It was a judgement call and my barn cat kitty will now live in style.
Gracie is not totally out of the woods but looks to be healthy and absolutely thriving. Circumstances brought about change and for her it was life changing. I only wish I had know a little more to perhaps helped runt too. I think it was just too late, and I accepted that when I took on the challenge.

and Gracie had to adapt too.
She even purrs at a week old.
I am sure she misses Runt and Momma, but life goes on.....
She seems to have put the past behind, settled into our routine and settles in her box happily after her feeding and cleaning.She doesn't even meow incessantly for food in the morning....but waits patiently knowing I am on it.
Gracie shows us that we can accept changes and thrive. Changes can be better than we ever dreamed.
A personal post, but relevant in a round about way.
The future is uncertain as is life itself.

Twitch, was the original thought because we didn't know Twitch sex it was!
I always seemed to struggle for the name, and when I found out it was a girl, well if not for the Grace of God I wouldn't have this sweet Amazing Grace.
She still is my little precious, cutie pie, piglette and will be my lifelong companion. It has been quite the experience and very gratifying.
Ditto Happiness. The same thing happened to us. My daughter found a few days old tuxedo kitten last August. We named him Tux. She fed him from a bottle until he was old enough to eat solids. All that time she was looking for someone to adopt him but no such luck. In January her family asked us to keep him (temporarily) for a few days while they went out of town. Guess what? There is nothing more permanent than temporary. He is still with us. He is so cute and he comes in the morning to be petted but the rest of the day he stalks us and tries to bite. Oh well, cats are cats.

I think it is wonderful that you came to an acceptance, and an understanding of your own life, during that moment of reality of a kitten without a Mother. We are all on our own search for meaning, especially now in our different world and we can adapt, no matter what life throws at us.
have a little Shih Tzu she is my bundle of joy, and never leaves my side, they are totally vulnerable and depend on you for their health and well being. I give thanks to all those health professionals, who help us to adapt well, without them we would not have a chance.

Hello Happiness,... I am writing here because I know you will get this personally. I just want to thank you for your endless support you give to EVERYONE! You answer posts, give personal advise and educate people.
I try to answer posts to provide some encouragement, but I feel I am still not a "seasoned" non-smoker so my advise does not do as much as yours and other "seasoned" smokers.
The new non-smokers are really rolling in. I don't intend on answering them like I have been. My answers are always the same. Same 'ole advise and honestly, I too am getting tired of my same 'ole answers.
I do want to thank you for keeping up with all these new members, as I am going to go more into the background. I don't want this to be like a "chore".

Unfortunately.not.all.endeavor.to.get.answers.for.themselves....I.often.wonder.just.how.many.take.my.best.advice.to.read.Allen.Carr.......even.FREE.and.to.possibly.save.themselves.a.lot.of.misery.....Repetition.for.some,but.new.to.others.Not.a.waste.of.time.
