Be strong

This site has been my safe spot for so long. First time I seriously menaged to quit for couple of years was thanks to this place. In March last year I quit again but this time there is no more urge for cigarette, this time I feel to be cleand from nasty habit I enjoy being healthier than before. I hope I will never be tempted again, but definitely there is a right moment for everything in the world, there is a right moment to quit bad habits too. Stay safe everyone and enjoy your company not of the smelly cigarette.

I am glad that you did not throw the towel in and tried again. Over a year is a good amount of time to adapt. I hope you have a stronger mindset this time around. Ask yourself what the trade off is and what it will cost in dollars and health. I am over two years now and can't imagine picking up the habit again. What for? How could smoking enhance my life? Even if a craving sneaks up, it is merely a thought. Dismiss it immediately and give thanks that you are a happy non-smoker.

So good to hear this site was your safe spot LadyK, After a few attempts, without any forum to turn to, I know this was the place to learn and feel good about myself in the process. The best Mantra that kept me strong in those difficult situations was NOPE (not one puff ever) said either mentally, written or said aloud every day. I still use it because I want to keep this commitment forever strong.
