Hi again, I just couldn't resist to come in here again to let some new readers know that I have completed over 1 month smoke free now. I am so happy and proud of myself and hopefully my dream will come true one day. I haven't had much craving, anger, anxiety or anything else too complain about which is a good thing. Only negative is my insomnia and find things to do during the day. The thing that is helping me go through this process is the medication my doctor prescribed for me. Champix, I now have started on 2nd pack and have 1 more to go to finish the 12 week program. I thought I could do without them one day,so I didn't take them at all that day. Just to find out my cravings for nicotine was still there. So I decided to take my medicine. Some of you may say or think it's weak too not go cold Turkey, but I don't think I would came as far as I have without the help I got from the tablets. Anyway just let others new to the forum know that you can do either way and still succeed. Good luck all hope be back here when my 2 months comes up see you then Tony

Great news Ptah, It is not weak to make your own decisions in relation to Champix, the only weakness is in picking up that cigarette when you have committed to not smoiking. Keep NOPE firmly in your mind when you eventually stop either the Cigarette or Champix, it does work

One month is a good achievement, and you will succeed again in another month. Just keep reading others posts every day. I can tell you my life is so different, and I am so grateful for this forum You can come back anytime you feel the need.

It doesn't matter what method you choose to quit as long as you see it through and quit. With Champix it shuts down the nicotine receptors making it less desirable to smoke while you conquer the addiction to the drug. Unfortunately there is also the psychological dependency that we also have to overcome. Doing things differently, getting jolts of dopamine in a way not dependent on nicotine. Learning, love, hugs, and it stands to reason that all these "feel good" activities and feelings would also include PRIDE, SATISFACTION and great joy in quitting smoking. Every time you get a yearning to a smoke and don't, you should feel great sense of pride and achievement. You are not denying yourself anything when you truly don't want it. DESIRE freedom and a better, healthier life more than a stinky, destructive smoke.

We have quit and you can too. Think positive.

Congratulations on your first month Ptah. Keep the positive that will serve you well.

Stay strong Tony

It is mind over matter in most cases,.

I made a decision almost one year ago, to not smoke and I saved over $9k.

It was uncomfortable, but I have got thru the difficult situation's.

Hang in there.

It gets better
