Friend has quit

Hi all
My life long best friend has quit smoking,I haven’t seen him for a few weeks with work commitments that we both have, yesterday he asked my advice on something so we met up ,after chatting for about an hour I realised he hadn’t lit a smoke up in that time,I said to him”have you run out of smokes?”he said”I’ve stopped,if you can do it I can.” I was over the moon,to think that I’ve inspired him to stop is as good as me stopping myself,I feel so happy😊 I just thought I’d share that nice moment with you all lol

It is a wonderful feeling to know that you have inspired others to believe in themselves enough to also try to quit and then succeed. My hubby and then my daughter followed my example. I hope my grandchildren will follow their parents example.
We never really know how our actions can impact others.
I wish you and your friend continued success and hope you gave us a good referral should he need additional support.

Thankyou happiness,he’s a really old fashioned lad who doesn’t talk Mutch so I’ve not really chatted in depth about it,apart from the obvious well domes and the subtle inspirational little chats,he’s heard me mention our site in passing conversation so he is aware it exists,I will be here for him if he needs me he knows that, but apart from that I’ll leave him to it so I don’t come across as a preacher,he’s a stubborn old dog with a will of iron,I have no doubt that now he’s decided to quit he will succeed,I’m really pleased and shocked he’s even contemplated stopping,I never dreamed he ever would,I’ll be watching him closely 😊

HI Newchapter, So glad you have inspired someone else to quit the Nico demon. Power to you. You can thank your lucky stars you actually quit. Now you can enjoy the positive result of convincing a friend to take a leaf out of your book. A new chapter for both of you. May you both give support to each other over the long term.

Thankyou for the reply Lia,yes I do feel good in the fact I’ve inspired my mate to stop, his health will improve, and also I won’t have to put up with the stink of his smokes, winner winner chicken dinner for sure, have a great smoke free day😊

This is absolute another level of the quit.. this is for me point of living.. to change another lives for better.. such great example, even much worthy when it's your best friend.. as I read somewhere: People/ children won't follow your advice, but your example.. Keep going..

Thankyou Matik your so right preaching gets you no where.Have a great smoke free day my friend😊

My friend I am so proud of you, you are an inspiration to the younger ones, so no need to feel any hesitation in departing your knowledge. Thanks for sharing and join us again soon.

my best friend did Quit before I did.
another example of: "If you can do it, so can I"
Thanks for sharing another lovely outcome!

Thankyou for your kind words of support Softly, you likewise are an inspiration to me also, have a fantastic smoke free day my friend.NOPE not one puff ever

So true.
We can see inspiration in the most unexpected of places if we open our eyes and heart's!
I just paid myself another $185.50 just for another week smoke free!

Wow that’s a lot of dosh, your laughing all the way to the bank puffnomore, that is reason enough to stop without the other infinite amount of reasons 😊

Yes cigarettes for me were about $30 a week from off the Indian Reservations, so not the number one reason for quitting. Truth is I didn't think I could until now. Technology and having a computer gave me the access to information and support. When I realized I had an addiction, albeit a legal one...that changed things. Seeing others quit gave me the confidence that I could too! We have a choice.

Money wasn’t the reason I stopped either Happiness,2oz pouch of tobacco I can get in the uk for £12,that used to last me just over a week, the reason I stopped was because I got sick of it,the isolation and the overall disapproval of the habit,I was going on holiday in the uk and I’d stop in the street for a vigour and people would walk past me making fake coughing noises and looking at me in the most disapproving way like I was a pepper,I can’t believe how expensive cigarettes are in Australia, you could buy a house on the money you save there

Good morning Guy's!
I might add that my above saving's are a total average of 20 factory made cigarettes everyday.
I was averaging 30 to 35 cigs everyday prior to the lead up month's of my Permanent Quit earlier this year. On that amount smoked everyday 35, LIa's latest post of paying yourself $300 every week would be right on the money!
And they are not the top recognizable brands either..
So yes. Lia is very entitled to have money as one important reason to STOP BURNING MONEY!

I Agree puffnomore it’s a great incentive,as I said earlier in this post it’s a lot of dosh
