over 3 years now not one puff

smoked for 54 years and last 10 years 3 packs of 20 per day

when flying i started to have trouble breathing when lugging my suit cases thru

the airports... actually had to stop and rest

took this as a warning sign and quit with the help.of this site (thank you)

wish i had quit years earlier

agter more than 3 years i still get a few cravings bit nit nearly as many or as strong as before

the biggest thing that got me thru was.knowing that cravings dont last

and forcing myself to ignore them until

they went away

good luck to all in this quest

just find something to do when a craving strikes... it will pass.quickly if your mind switches to something else

dont give in and let it beat you

Yes a craving is only just a thought. Turn your attention to something else and it goes away. Debate with it, and it will have you self doubting yourself. That is the power of the addiction that we have to constantly fight until we accept our new way of life.

When you look at it as weakening with every passing day... that the tables are turned and that it is begging for you to feed it.....or it will die......

when you realize that there are benefits to enjoy and money to splurge on yourself and freedom....sweet freedom from its never ending need to feed it in order to be let alone. Endure just a bit of time to have your whole future free of it......well, no one will tell you it wasn't worth it.

We may have flashbacks, from time to time, but it no longer holds any kind of power over us. We are free. Congratulations on your three years,

Hi eww

Liked your post. The cravings do not last long. Years ago I called mine "Margaret Thatcher" and had to tell her where to go when a craving entered my head. Worked a treat. Cold turkey for nearly 5 1/2 years. Over $49000 saved from the ash tray. You are on a winning trail. All the best.
