Champix

Day 2 on champix feeling pretty average 🤢 please tell me it doesn't last the whole course!

Hi Mandy. Welcome to a wonderful quit forum with plenty of support and stories to help to keep you on the right path. So you have conquered your fear of quitting smoking, the fear of some discomfort and the fear that you may fail. Many have beaten the addiction but it will take more than just pills.
While Champix will make you feel less inclined to smoke because it affects your dopamine sensors and takes the "rush" you feel out of lighting up. Plus some say it makes cigarettes taste horrible. If you really think about it, you can taste the poisons in the fags. I got weed killer on a stub and couldn't tell the difference.
Facing the face that cigarettes did nothing for you all this time is the best helper. Truth allows us to view smoking in a different light and say good-bye gratefully. Embracing the journey and patiently waiting for all the wonderful changes about to come makes it more bearable, even painless.
I had no cravings and quit cold turkey. The odd time I may think of smoking, I quickly dismiss the idea as ludicrous. Allan Carr's book is well worth the short time to read. He tells about why we smoked, rather than why we shouldn't smoke. Understanding is key to change.
Make it easier on yourself and learn the truths. We most certainly can quit smoking despite the lies and brainwashing over the course of years.

Champix or not, you're gonna have a bad time first few months (bad time intertwined with a sense of accomplishment, pride, relief and good time that is). Think about it - you can't erase all the damage you've done so far in a few days. The important thing now is to follow your inital decision no matter what.

I was on Champix, this worked for me after I quit a few times. The key is to try to embrace the journey by reading posting and looking at different videos, education and solid reasons should make it easier not harder.
It is a mind game because Champix has no Nicotine in it, the mind is a powerful tool, and the addiction to Nicotine is also powerful, don't let anything or anyone tell you any different, discomfort is the most I felt, but we all feel that in different situations in our lives. Go with the flow Look Learn and be happy. NOPE (not one puff ever)

I was expecting the nausea .. just not to that extent lol
They are certainly not making me want to smoke and I guess that’s what I’m doing here so that’s good!

I am on champix and I had nausea after taking it for a few days but i Got Ondansetron tablets from the chemist and that helped.I also was tired but found out that wasen"t from Champix I had a infection.I feel ok now and staying off the smokes. Takes time to adjust to your new life and happy with that.Keep occupied I think helps too.

Hi Mandy. I have to remind you about the IMPORTANCE of taking the Champix Tablet WITH meals. That means in the middle of nutritious food. If you take it on an empty stomach! Nausea and a painful-upset stomach is certain.

Thanks all .. I have been taking them with food but maybe not enough! I had a big bowl of cereal this morning took the tab and had a banana .. not feeling the nausea today but i feel like I have taken a sleeping pill!

Well , may I suggest that its your priority to NOT SMOKE and its ok to have a kip (nap) if you need it. Take it day by day and remember everyday is weakening the nico-demons grip.
Stay strong.
