Really confused

Hi all I have not been game enough to touch base for a while. Am feeling ashamed, like a loser, and confused. I was doing well on patches and smoke free for over 2 months. I stopped using them and re read the Allen Carr book. Did really great for 2 weeks and then smoked again. I would appreciate any advice as to how to get the right mindset back. Zen calm

Hey zen clam. You can do it just get your patches back on again find where you had a slip up and try not to go back there again.
I also had patches on and slipped up aswell but I found where I was going wrong and was so angry with myself for smoking.
I put my patch on and listen to Alan carr also he give me good motivation again and also been on this website..
I've just had surgery done and I got the scare of a life time with my health straight away fags where gone and haven't had a urge to smoke 1 because there is more important things out there than them fags.
While you have your health you should just kick it hard this time
Dont let it be to late. Remember never quit quitting

Hi Gemma. 🙏🏻 Cigarettes are of no value. They offer and give nothing. Great that you got through surgery. Am getting mindset back.

Think you answered your own question there.
They are no value and offer us nothing what's so ever.
Its all an illusion

I think that everybody has slip up.. not once.. and it's because to go back and be stronger.. my last slip up took 2 days.. during that I smoked not my favorite cigarette's brand, but another, which is not tasty for me.. I recognized during that time, that smoking gives me nothing even I do not like it - it wasn't tasty, I didn't enjoy it.. that's my experience, now 1 month clear..

I;ve had slip-ups before.
I had also had major periodsg ofj time ofj being a non-smoker.
I'm forced to stop smoking due to a disease , its COPD. That mindset is just a word devised by some scholar? It means, determination, willpower, self-belief, self disciplan satisfaction (without inhaling poison's), enjoyment and freedom. Its taking the better decision. Sure, Its challenging to go without some instant mind bending suck to the brain. (smokers know it)(ask yourself) Can I be satisfied without out that instant hit to brain>? If you answer no, you are not ready.
If you answer yes you have a great mindset to stop smoking.
I''m 130 days down the road again and wished I could say it was easy.
I just repeat I DONT SMOKE no matter what.

Find anyway to Fix you.
I found out that just one puff was enough to keep me hooked.

Hi Zen Calm. I too am confused. While I feel for you and your disappointment, I am not disappointed in you. You are savvy enough to use this forum for the advice and support for which it was created. You have not given up and you will eventually prevail. You are not the first, nor will you be the last to buckle for an unknown cause. We know, especially those who are familiar with Allan Carr, how cigarettes came to own us and how they fooled us into believing they did something for us. We grasped at the lies to feel better about becoming addicted to something we had been warned against and felt we couldn't become addicted because it tastes so bad and made us gag. We had to work hard to fit in and master it. Surprise, It mastered us. But you know all of this. While quitting was unpleasant and required dedication , did it not feel fantastic to finally kick that relentless, ungrateful master to the curb? The dollars adding up and the taste and smell returning? Better health now and in the future? I am glad I had been quit a year before my stroke. That may have helped my recovery and staved off the worst scenario. We don't resort to scare tactic usually, because people know the risks. They just don't think that they can. You have for two whole months. You have learned so much about the addiction, and that it can be beat! Keep the positive thinking and know that your turn will come.

Hi matiK-one. Thanks for your support. Cigarettes are the biggest illusion ever created to mankind. M re-reading the Allen Carr book. Congrats on 1 month.
