6 weeks in and back on patches, bad shortness of breath
Well I was staring to feel great week 5 and I went off the patches ... then I would wake up breathless every 3 hours ... to a point to where I was afraid to fall asleep .. I guess im having panic attacks in my sleep ... just feels like I can t catch my breath ... went back on the patches yesterday and sleep great ... but woke up and cant catch my breath .... is this normal to feel such shortness of breath after 6 weeks? Its scaring the crap out of me.
Anybody have any tips for the shortness of breath and how to over come the feeling?
Hello! If you are having shortness of breath as a result of panic attacks, I suggest you make an appointment with your GP. It’s always the best idea to get a physical if something is bothering you this much.
Yeah I live in the states so thats easier said than done ... not only will it cost a fortune.. most doctors are not seeing people because of the virus ... I will see if I can get something set up and see if I can get some help... Thanks!
hey again. I read your previous posts as well and it seems like you are having mild to severe panic attacks which is affecting your breathing. Get it checked out if you can, if not you can try to calm yourself with breathing exercises when that comes. You can download the Calm app for that. Breathing into a paper bag also helps to normalize the irregularities in your breathing. If these don’t resolve your issues you definetely need to see your physician.
Not everything is a coincidence. It is probably nothing, but you will fret yourself into another state of anxiety until you get a doctors reassurance. If it is something, you are best to catch it early and take measures. All the best to you. Just know that starting smoking again will not be a solution. I have discovered over time and others experience's is that the 21mg (big patch) offers way too much nicotine to the body. Some estimate 5 to 10 times the amount of nicotine compared to a 20 a day smoker!
If true? Consider a smaller patch, cold turkey or even Red's suggestion.
