I have not smoked in 56 days. Some days I feel great some days I don’t. Chest hurts and breathing hurts sometimes. I can feel my heart beating sometimes. I have gone to see doctors 3 times and they did ekg and it’s always normal. I hope this goes away.

Hi kenny. 56 days is great, congratulations. You have been to the doctors, which is a good thing, but was just wondering if it is anxiety of sort. Maybe need to learn to relax all your muscles. I do this most nights at the moment, because of the Corona Virus scare, we are all a bit more anxious than before, this helps me so much, so why don't you try it for a few nights just before you go to sleep. Or even during the day.

I don’t think it’s anxiety, I could be bending down to get someone and my chest starts to hurt and few my heart.

I also have not started coughing up anything as of yet

schedule 31 Mar 2020

Thank you I sure hope it gets better, I’m at the point I don’t ever want another smoke. Just want to feel better is all

schedule 31 Mar 2020

It is hard to know if one is anxious or stressed. Years ago I ground my teeth so bad in my sleep that my jaw caused me great pain. Things were great at the time and I could not imagine it being stress. Quitting smoking is stressful for some, and with the virus and the anxiety there, you can't be sure that it isn't. Take deep breaths and do yoga or meditation to find calm. Learn how to accept, that which you can change and that which you cannot. We can take measures for our own health and well being. Think positive. You are in control.

Im almost 2 months smoke free too, but, the one important observation I became aware of many many months ago is, for me, is;

Not to be fooled by normal stress and anxiety to be misconstrued with an urge of the withdrawal process.

In other words, I recognized the difference between a craving as oppossed to my anxiety or worries.

Now that we are almost in total lockdown albeit for essential work and essential grocery shopping, I might write a story exploring this further? lol

Sounds a good idea PuffNoMore, I recognised that if I was stressed about something, my mind would automatically go to picking up that white stick, when I was in the process of giving up.

I learned to understand and work on what was stressing me out and to deal with it, instead of avoiding it with the cigarette as my life line (that was how I saw the cigarette in those days) How stupid is that. This meant a good hard look at various ways where I could diminish the problem until I was ready to cope with it. The most effective way for me was deep breathing, I did notice I was holding my breath too, which means lack of oxygen.

I was wondering if Kenny's doctor had thought about Heart Arrhythmia which comes and goes, my sister had this and usually came on with stress.

Well done for 56 days Kenny

They have closed the Indian smoke shop where I got my smokes very cheap. Sure glad that I don't have that financial burden on top of everything else . Its bad enough that there are so many out of work and the markets in the ditch.
