Six Months - some days I still think of tobacco

Six months ago i smoked my last cigarette. I caught myself just the other day reaching in my pocket for a cigarette. Out of the blue this old habit just occurred. It really caught me off guard that i almost instinctively reached for a pack of cigarettes. needless to say there were no cigarettes to be found. This insidious product still has its hooks in me. however the longer i dont smoke the better. I wish everyone the best in thier journey's.

Have you had any realistic dreams in your sleep that you are smoking a cig and feeling guilty about it? This is a part of healing process too. Don’t give it too much thought as long as you stay quit. Cheers.

Hey Andrew, I'm there with you! I'm only on day 26 but just had a similar thing happen. I was doing some stuff around the house and went to kneel down and instinctively dropped my hand to my left pocket to rotate my lighter so it wouldn't jab me in the leg. NO LIGHTER! Made myself giggle out loud. My dog, who follows me everywhere, looked at me like I was a complete lunatic.

Hi Andrew. Congratulations on 6 months! A brilliant achievement.

I had the same sort of experience - went outside to get the pack and lighter before I locked up the house to go out. Once I realised what I was looking for, I was so glad to not have any around. Would I have just unconsciously lit up? I will never know.
