Hi everyone i started on this site nearly 4 yrs back and i haven't looked back. I pop in now and again to offer my support to people starting the long road to quitting smoking. I had classmates named Dobbin, Lea, Steve and other great people with whom i shared advice and support. Really as i approach 4yrs quit i do not think of cigarettes . Furthermore due to increase in costs i would not even afford to buy them. I smoked for 50yrs and g ave up for health reasons. It is hard people i kid you not but if you seriously want to quit and perserve, then you will reap the future rewards. All the best . Cheers.

Hi Johnnie.

As my very last cigarette is approaching. And I'm still a little concerned of the process. (withdrawal). Do you remember your last smoke and your first few days after that?

Hi Johnnie. So good to know you are still quit. Dobbin is 100 days "behind" me and good to know you are with us as it is proof it can happen for the long haul. None.of us with 4 digits could ever have imagined this. You, Dobbin & I know it is not a race nor a competition. We are determined not to let ourselves down and more so those and each other who had been providing support with clever messages of encouragement along the way and who got us here. Thanks for popping in...

Lia nice to be chatting with you again and glad to hear you are still on track also. Regarding your question "Puff nomore" yes the first few days you will find very hard but you need to perservere if you are serious. Try nrt lozenges they helped me.I used 4mg and split in quarters. It will take 90 days before you are out of the woods. Sorry but i can't pull any punches. All the very best to you and every other quitter. Cheers.

Way to go Johnnie, I'm a couple months off the 2 year mark and isn't it wonderful to be free of them. I had a horrendous year or more but now i can really appreciate quitting. I hope your health issues have improved. Well done.

Hi Johnnie. Just read your response on my last post. Thought I might respond via your threads. It is reassuring to hear from the class of 4 - 5 years ago... We manage to reassure each other it is never a time to be complacent. ( just like Covid... ) It is reassuring to know long time quitters are not alone and have ongoing support. Sure, we don't think about smoking but not being alone is powerful. Means we have a responsibility to those who supported us in the past and it feels good to have them around...
