158 Days

schedule 5 Dec 2019

Well after about 31 years smoking a pack a day I have gone 158 days without a cigarette and I am so proud of myself. I have had big battles with the mind along the way and life/work has had its challenges which would normally make me crumble. I have had got great motivation from this site and hearing from people that have gone through or are going through the same feelings that I have been. To all the people starting stay focused and take it one day, one moment, one craving at a time. At the start it all seems to hard but don't give up as time goes by you will gain more confidence and become proud of every milestone you pass along the way. Always remember that quitting smoking will be one of the best decisions you will make in your life

Hi Rustyone. Welcome to the club of abstainers. Who said it would be easy? It isn't but we don't intend going back to day one. Just enjoy what is good about your quit. Count your blessings. You aren't missing out on anything. As far as having tough times and problems, the day they cease is when one is no longer living and smokers can only get to that place sooner or with more health problems along the way. I don't think emphysema is an option.

Thanks Rustyone for your inspiring words. I'm at Day 2. Such a great achievement of yours and I'm hoping I can post that one day...One day at a time
