Day 424 check in

Today is day 424 as a non smoker. I've made it over the first year and am never going back to smoking. Everyone can do it, saved over $11,000, well actually spent money on other things. NRT helped me, others have other methods to help them quit, doesn't matter how you achieve your goal of giving up cigarettes, all that matters is that it works for you.
It isn't easy for everyone to quit, however its worth the effort and once you succeed you will lever go back to being a smoker. If I can quit after over 40 years anyone can do it. Best of luck to all those staring the journey and thanks to all those on this site that gave me encouragement throughout my journey.

Way to go John 100. You're absolutely right in that it doesn't matter how you quit as long as you do. In order to work long term however, you really do need to have a positive mindset and know that you will not beat the nicotine demon in a dare to have just one . Following posts here and understanding the relationship between you and nicotine helps immensely.
Again congratulations on your achievement John. Good to hear from you again.

Thanks, have been following site, just haven't posted, just lazy I guess. Agree finding and maintaining mindset is critical. Never be tempted to just have one, nicotine is so insidious that you'll be hooked again if you let your guard down. On a positive note, nobody who quits ever wishes to start smoking again, we just remember what it was like then and compare it to now, healthier, more money to indulge ourselves and no longer smelly social outcasts being looked down on by sanctimonious people who have never been hooked on nicotine.

Congratulations John you deserve it. Come back often with a few pearls of wisdom.

Hi Johm 100. You said it all. When you can talk about how you believe in your new self, you are well and truly on your way. When you can stop asking for advice and instead dish it out, you know you truly are a believer and are willing to egg everyone else on. Enjoy the accolades.

thanks for dropping in here and on my last story specifically. we have made our lives so much richer by not being ruled by a single cig over and over multiple times everyday and every night.
STAY PROUD OF OURSELVES .
thank you mate.
