At last 100 days free from Smoking

I have waited for this before I posted again, and can proudly say that in that 100 days not one cigarette touched my lips. I cannot say that the thoughts have all gone away but yesterday was perhaps the biggest test for me. I took my dog for a walk in the park and had my winter jacket on. I put my hand in my pocket and guess what, found a half of a cigarette, I brought it out and looked at it for a while wondering why it was there, in the past I would have put it back in my pocket to smoke at home, but this time looked for the bin and gladly threw it in. Phew. Total saved $990. My dog has a new winter coat now.

I guess it was just a mystery to test you. You may never know why it came to be, but you do know that you were not tempted. I hope the incident served to make you more confident that you are indeed a non-smoker. Weaning off the nicotine after your vacation will be the easy part. Well done Softl

Thanks everyone for your support I have a big grin on my face. Yes I had lighters in my cupboard but threw them out. I raced to the shops and bought my little dog a new winter coat, mine follows next. What deadline is the next one? I think I can manage short ones for the next month or so this might be easier as I went back to smoking on m last holidays and don't want to do it this time around.

Way to go Softly40. A great achievement. The first month is the hardest followed by the next two. You are on easy street now. Just don’t try to prove to yourself that you truly beat this addiction by lightning one up. Be vigilant and good luck.

Yay softly, you made the triple digits club, I did last week, This is a huge milestone, I guess the next big one for us is six months, but evert day is a milestone. Congratulations and bet you dog looks fab in its new coat. Mine little ones won’t wear them, lucky it doesn’t get too cold here. Spoil yourself, you deserve it

You proceed as you need to Softly. You are doing great, and I am sure that this time you will have the pride and drive to remain smoke free throughout your trip. Keep us with you in your heart and thoughts. Remember that you are not alone, and that your fan club believes in you. You can and will do this.

That is wonderful you were able to throw it in the garbage. Once, I slammed on the brake in the car because someone cut in front of me and there low and behold a pack of cigarettes rolled out from under the car seat with the lighter in the pack. I caved and of course I smoked it.

Hi LauraW yes I bet we all have had those kind of things happen to us when we are trying to quit. I used to do that before, I thought it was someone looking after me, and this was my friend whatever the reason I looked on my find as a pleasure not as a pain. Now I know better, this is how I became hooked again, this time it gets chucked in the bin Nicotine is the monster not me or you.
