Bad craving day

This is day 59 for me.
I was using NR patches and a CBD pen for cravings.
Have been trying to do without either one.
I'm not having a lot of luck. I absolutely cannot go back to smoking. This is just a bad day.

This is the first time i have ever heard about CBD. Where are you from Beth?Marijuana is now legalized in Canada, but i had not heard of CBD unless that is what they call Medical Marijuana. Is that without THC then? I would be interested in knowing a little more about it from you. If it helps with anxiety and sleeplessness and gets you over the hump, then i guess that would be an option, i just never thought of it. I did write a piece wondering about herbs and such, natural stuff like lobelia and Indian tobacco. Lol, guess i should have considered wacky tobbaky...I read a little about it shutting down receptors.....
Thanks for the info Beth, and how it works.... ummm interesting indeed!

First of all, I am in Oregon. Marijuana is legal both medically and recreationally.
CBD has the medical benefits without the psychoactive properties of THC.
They are discovering that CBD has many medical benefits.
The pen is either a disposable one or I also have a rechargeable battery unit that I can purchase cartridges of CBD oil for.

I also do use marijuana, but don't like using it first thing in the morning. I prefer using it in the evenings. Not great for cravings.

I should have said that it has the medical benefits of marijuana without containing the psychoactive properties of marijuana.

To my understanding it is more to relax you for better sleep and/or lessen anxiety. They also believe that it may lessen the enjoyment of smoking nicotine as it acts on the receptors like Champix. So no, it won't help with cravings, but maybe to cut down initially. Somethings, used properly, as intended and short term could have its place in a smoking cessation plan. Like most drugs, you need to know whether you can operate a vehicle or machinery under its use. Thanks for sharing BethP.

For me, it actually did help when I would get a craving. As long as you are purchasing pure CBD oil, you won't get "high".

Thanks for the clarification. I may have been reading about hemp plant v.s marijuana CBD. Anyone interested should read and be knowledgeable as with any herb used for medicinal purposes.
Thanks again BethP. I think it is great to learn of something different that may be incorporated into a quit plan. Best to you in your journey.

Hi Beth. You commented on still missing hanging outwith the neighbours. You can still do that, you just can't smoke. Depriving yourself of friendship long term is not a requirement to quit smoking, and does fuel the inability to accept change to a non-smoker. That is why after a couple of weeks, even I with no cravings, join my smoking friends on breaks. Its no wonder people feel deprived and misconstrue its origin.
You know yourself and whether you can handle this challenge. Some are better not to tempt fate if they don't trust themselves. Continued success on your journey Beth.

You're so right, Happiness. I shouldn't deprive myself, and I don't always. But, it is difficult at times. I am a determined person, though.
My new mantra-"l Am A Non-Smoker".
That's just the way it has to be.

If it helps Beth, they must have clued in that you have quit. They are jealous. The smokers i know look very wistful. Stay proud and free!
