I vow to end my relationship with the smokes here

I have decided to kick the habit tonight. I have enough smokes for the remainder of the day and will wake up tomorrow free of smoke. I'm promising to never buy another packet.
My journey started in September when I entered a Detox Centre. I voluntarily admitted myself in the pursuit of quitting the smokes forever and to give my fatty liver a rest from alcohol abuse (beer). Throughout my Detox in the hospital I was given all the care anybody would ever want. I took on all NRT including, patches, lozenges and inhalers during my 10 day stay.
On discharge I was 10 days smoke free and this continued for the next 20 days, when I had some disappointing news and a major disagreement with a loved one, and I proceeded to smoke my usual 30 a day for 3 days straight. Thankfully, I got off the smokes and I started my new Day 1 once again. I then remained off the smokes for the next 55 days until more frightening news from my daughter this time. So this brings us up to date as I have been smoking the last 13 days.
All up since the story started I have smoked a total of 16 days and a total of 85 non-smoking days.
Its a merry-go-round and i'm ready to jump right off it, once and for all.
BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE

Hi PuffNoMore,
Sorry about your setback, however that's all it is a setback. You made it for 55 days so you know you can do this. I wont try and tell you this is easy, its not, however its worth the effort and it gets easier with each day you say no to the addiction. Stay strong and believe their are plenty of people that feel your pain and wish you all the best for your success.

Hi Puffnomore, so you've had a bumpy start, thats okay there is no such thing as a failed quit attempt. They have just been your practices for the real thing. You've done 55 days so you've proven you are no coward and that you can commit. Stay strong and post often, you can do this and we know you want it, otherwise you wouldn't persist. So good for you, nothing good in life comes easy and you are in control.

Thank you guys, Your support reminds me to fight the good fight. . Its a fight worth fighting for, that's for sure.

Goodnight.
Ive taken on the advice.
Will be on day one tomorrow.
Its back to Saying "nope"
I dont smoke.
YIPPEE

Wow, you are serious, got your own page and all!!! :) I think the love affair with your smokes is truly over. I am glad something resonated with you, and that your new positive mindset will enable you to finish this journey to freedom . Eat breakfast, drink water, and cut caffeine by half. You've got it this time PuffNoMore!

Not alot to report. Had my last smoke last night. Slept 10 hours . had breakfast and drinking water. My day one has just started so Ill keep busy.

Don't look at it as Day 1 PuffNoMore, but regaining those past 55 days in which you learned so much. Take all that you know now, and put it to work for you.
You can do this . You never did say if you got Allan Carr. ?

How's it going buddy? Thinking of you. I know you can do this. Moment by moment. You have dealt with these cravings before. They are nothing new to you. You even said that they are just mental urges, they can't hurt you. This time around you are in the right frame of mind to take control of it. You know it can be defeated, and if others can , you can too. Just another few hours and the NicoDemon will leave you alone.
You have already lived as a non-smoker and have the resolve to be a happy non-smoker more than anything.
You have an arsenal of tools. Curl up with a good book, or sleep the next few hours away if necessary. Drink lots of water and flush those toxins faster. Play Tennis and sweat it out. Use the sauna. Bathe in Epsom salt.
You will soon be free and at peace. You will finally have that silence that has eluded you. I will even consider you a non-smoker longer than me, and certainly much more experienced, determined and successful. You will never go back to that vile addiction and have to do this again.
As Red says, you only need to quit once. Quit believing you need nicotine to feel like you. Embrace life as a non-smoker and the freedom that comes with it. You've got it this time PuffNoMore.

Days 1 and 2 have been about sleeping the nights and parts of the days. I'm just making sure The temptations are minimal. It feels like I hopped off the Merry-Go-Round. And I'll just think Nope , I aint hopping back on it!

You sound pumped! That is awesome news! Just a few more hours, and it will be easier again if not over. Your journey is almost over, in any case, and your life will be enhanced so much more. Be proud of your strength and determination. You, weewilliam, Safe and others who have had numerous lengthy battles and won are great inspirations to others.
You've got this! Positive thinking and Happy thoughts!

Its day 3 , Monday afternoon. I haven't had a smoke since Friday night, watching a bit of Allan Carr on YouTube now. I haven't got the book yet.
The irritability and the random sweats are alleviating somewhat and just coming to terms with the loss factor. Yes, I still have the feeling of loss. Another day done and another dagger in the heart into that two faced nicotine monster. And another $34.95 remains in my bank A/C :)(:

You are doing great PuffNoMore. A few more hours to stay strong and then get a good nights sleep. The sweats are naturally detoxifying your body. While you sleep, the body will repair and take more control from the nico monster. Morning should bring a change in your irritability as you realize how far you have come and that you are in control now.
Embrace being free. Review some of your comments which expressed how you wanted so badly to be free and have peace of mind. You will breathe better, feel better, look better, smell better...... there is no downside PuffNoMore. Don't you dare miss that despicable tube of crap that took so much from you, and will have taken yet more again if you give into it.
You are going to make it to the point of being nicotine free after 58 days of work. The cravings were not so bad as you thought, certainly no worse than the previous 55 days. Your journey is coming to an end.
Are you really going to keep repeating the sense of loss voices? Are you going to keep the memory of the nicodemon alive, each and every day?
You have lived as a non-smoker for many days now but you have not been a happy non-smoker. It will be different than that now because you will no longer be still regulating and craving nicotine. You will be free! Truly free as you have not yet been. You will have killed the nicotine monster at last, and only you can breathe fresh life into him.
Let that nasty two faced leech go and move on to a great new life with a great sense of accomplishment and pride.

Day 4, Tuesday and having some urges of of buying a packet and calling the quit effort off, at least until this bout of depression leaves my body and mind. No No No.... I have talked myself out of it . Just hoping this gets easier, as the days go on. I'll just have to be patient in knowing that I have the power to control the monster and by letting the mongrel die from not feeding it

I am so proud of you for not relenting and shouting NO! There is no decision to be made anymore PuffNoMore. You have chose to be a non-smoker, and a non-smoker simply doesn't smoke. You don't want to be slave to nicotine any longer, nor go through this cycle again. There is no valid reason to smoke. You know as well as the rest of us here that smoking does nothing for you but rob you of your good looks. ;)
Are you doing anything nice for yourself you help you through the depression? Are you eating well, maybe listening to your favourite music or watch some feel good movies. Do you have a hobby to immerse yourself in? Perhaps you have always wanted to have one, woodworking, playing an instrument, learning Karate.... anything? You have that extra money to indulge yourself, and keep your mind occupied.
You're going to get through this PuffNoMore. You know you want to get off this merry-go-round for the last time. You only need to quit once. You only need think " I am so grateful to finally achieve my dream of being a non-smoker" and you will. The mind is a powerful thing. Believe!

You come up with Alot of good ideas and ways of thinking like continuing counting from my last slip of 13 days, 4 days ago, but when you put it like I have no choice to be a non-smoker it has worked. thank you. I should be better now.

I watched a 47 minute video on youtube, Its by Herman van der Meiden.
He is Advocating Allans book , Its titled;
My thoughts on allen Carr's Easy way to stop Smoking.

I watched it too, and a couple more. I hope some information resonates with you. How's it going? New members today, and more posting for you to read. Different inroads, give different perspectives right? You will find the right road soon PuffNoMore. No detours!

How you doing PuffNoMore? Hoping you are still staying strong. It's hard to imagine especially during initial stages of quitting that it gets easier as the time goes by. There will come a time when you will not even need smokes and you will feel normal without them but you need to get over the hump. All the best.

I liked the chant."Nicoman go away, don't come back another day!" Besides you don't want him with you looking over your shoulder if you decide to pop into a massage parlour now do you? lol. Couldn't resist. A massage was a good idea, and maybe a good reward to help you relax.
I am glad some of my suggestions help. We are in this together. Leave no man behind. (or woman)

I'm still going strong guys. Day 6 nearly at an end. I'm over the hump with no desire to smoke! I feel some freedom for most parts as I realize that my smoking days are over, kaput, finished, and I no longer hunger for them.
Its certainly given myself a piece of freedom, especially how my bout of anxiety & depression rudely interfered with my health & well-being plans. I'm still taking this, one day at a time. If my mental health keeps improving as it is, I know I'll keep this FREEDOM for life!

YIPPEE.... You did it PuffNoMore. Depite the interference from other forces you beat the odds. I am so Proud of you. I am so happy that you can now enjoy your life as a non-smoker and no longer fear of failure or slipping back into the trap. You have proven to yourself, the most important person that you can do what you set your mind to do.
Beating the depression can also be done by natural measures like diet, meditation, exercise. and yes, herbal remedies, but be careful , read warnings and consult your doctor. Everything in moderation is generally a good practice.
You are finally free! YIPPEE!

I just found an amazing story again, that might benefit you and others. More proof about mindset. Read all 5 stories and the comments for re-enforcement.I know you love to read!
https://www.icanquit.com.au/story/13220/not-what-i-expected

Its too quiet PuffNoMore. How are you doing? I am so glad you have finally found the right path.
What do you think of my new stories to bring the disappointed ones back to try a different quit style? Do you think it might have worked for you? It was inspired by you, for me to think how it could have been a easier journey for you.
I came here after you. Who am i to tell anyone to change their method once started? I just do my best to support. Once you relapsed, smart turkey was the right way for you to go. You were Smart. Now for the Turkey. I see others on the last leg of Nrt prolonging the turkey jump too. You survived it and are free. You can attest to the fact that the cravings those 6 days were no worse than what you had experienced all along for 55 days.
I so want to end the needless unhappiness caused by these damned drugs. If everyone took a couple weeks reading and learning and practicing before they gave up their last cigarette, they would be in the right mindset, and lay them down thankfully. Is it that simple? It worked for me. Am I an exceptiion? My hubby too? Sure he read Allan Carr but he was also reading all these posts that i have mirrored to the TV screen. He was learning the mindset.
Your input here is valuable to me PuffNoMore. Hope you are still strong and that you are enjoying the calm, silence. So proud of you.

Of course its that easy. It IS what Allan Carr did. He got people to understand, logical thinking, put a different perspective on things. Encouraged with positive thinking. The problem here though is that although we in the mindset use the positive language, those starting out do not , hence cause fear. They tell others before they even start how hard it is!
That is what we have been brainwashed to think, and so who will the newcomers believe? They are fighting in their head as to who to believe.
Uggggh... Frustrating.
If you could do it all over again PuffNoMore, how would you have done it differently?

let me get back to you in a day or two, although, it really comes down to how the quitter thinks. If the quitter really believes its possible, the quit can be successful. On the other hand, If the quitter has the YES/No dialogue chatter in there head, well, they probably will fail because they haven't found the confident mindet, Its a false and flimsy mindset at best.
We have to really believe that we want to not smoke more than anything(safe).
I'm no expert on psychology, but gaining the mindset is not possible straight away (look how long it took me to understand) its a feeling of belief in one's own belief system in one's own mind. You can continue to push and advocate it, but its something that is cultivated in one's own mind, I think.
Keep plugging away at your philosophy if you want, but remind yourself that we are all different and we think and learn in different ways some times

PuffNoMore, Mindset is a phrase that gets thrown about a lot on this site and for good reason and that's because its a critical factor in overcoming the nicotine addiction. Part of the issue I believe is that this term, Mindset, can mean different things to different people.
I have been working on developing a positive self image and training the conscious and sub conscious mind for sporting purposes. Knowing what is required sounds easy, putting it into practice is hard work and you have to fight self doubt and past failures. Mindset needs to be trained just like physical and technical skills. It can be done but it takes work.
Just a thought, why can't anything worthwhile be easy? Stay strong.

Hi Puffnomore Just came across your story and feel as if I know you better now. I have a friend (who does not smoke) but I told her I had quit and she said "did you know its the hardest addictions to give up..harder then drinking"? I was amazed and looked it up on the internet and she was sorta correct. Its the hardest drug to give up. Junk food is harder what a surprise. Anyhow this is the road we are taking..on day, one step, one breath. If i was faced with a traumatic situation not sure that i could make it without a cig. I don't think you should be too hard on your self..dust it off and keep'' going. what that quote "Failure is success in progress". Bottom line your back to being a not smoker. I am happy to have you as my non smoking buddy :)

Hi Puffnomore, read your story on JoJos site about heat wave and not being the best of days for you. Stay strong and get through each day at a time, I promise you it does get easier over time.

Wow PuffNoMore Day 11. One One... Won Won. I still think the journey was easier for you after you stumbled and did the SMART turkey. Any urges you feel now are the voids. I see that today you are bored. You've got $332 go and blow (but not on smokes!) Do you like to cook? Why not take it up. Kick your woman out of the kitchen and surprise her! If you already do the cooking, then surprise her with something fancy like Duck a la orange or Beef Wellington... you get the idea. This journey has accomplished more than just becoming a non-smoker. Your success has lifted your spirits, your depression is waning, your health is improving and so is your sense of taste and smell. Your belief in yourself carries into other aspects of your life.
Don't forget the candles. Other things do improve too.

Correction... 112 days on this journey is too far to have come with any thought of letting the nicomonster ever raise its head against you. again The number do not matter, only the win! Stay strong. Be Proud!

Thanks guys,
Talking about numbers, I done a quick tally-up
Since 24th sept.....96 days smoke free.
16 smoking days.
(2 slip ups). 3 days and 13 days. And I still dont feel the freedom yet!
This Quit is 11 days old and I am struggling at times.
Maybe the addiction to the drug has gone, but its the other aspects that I'm fighting, Because I did alot of smoking to wittle away my time.
And I'm working very hard to not miss it.
Stay strong everybody

Hi PuffNoMore. I understand that you may still get urges, and that that is annoying, but to say you are fighting the urges is a negative way of thinking. Remember to turn everything into a positive. Even if you were to think the urges as positively annoying is much better. Follow it by " But you will be gone soon enough. One morning i will get up and you will be gone."
Think of it as a divorce, which is final, and move on with your life. It is not a separation where you are trying to work things out. You have worked.. and won. Nicotine is out! What else is there to think about? You will not get any thing out of that relationship now. You hate the poison stick now, If you were to give in, who would your hate more, it or yourself? It never gave you anything in all those years, it certainly has nothing to offer you now. Divorce it, and walk away, don't look back and don't give it another thought.
You can thank one of the new members, Debbie i think, for that analogy. I hope it resonates with you. It could be the nicodemon, a woman if it helps!

PuffNoMore, agree with your post on other about back into tennis and exercise.
I have started to do a bit more work on my fitness as like you I got a bit slack. Need to lose about 4kg, cant blame it all on smoking, when you stop working its easy to eat the same and do less exercise, also need to limit junk food.
Point is, exercise does help take your mind off smoking. Keep up the good work with your Quit.

Yep, Also we tend to eat more being a non smoker. Its a great site, I often get alot out of it.
And Happiness I promise to work on my positive attitude.
Thanks alot

Yes, it seems natural to replace smoking with eating more. Better to eat more than smoke, just need to be careful about what we eat and drink like the sugary drinks, chips and ice creams, all things I love but need to love in moderation. The good news is that over time most ex smokers lose any extra weight they put on initially.

Hi PuffNoMore. I was wondering, since i am trying to come up with ideas to make the journey for all that come here easier , if you could answer me a couple of questions honestly. A lot of ideas are put out there but that doesn't mean we act on them.
Did you ever use your inhaler standing in an uncomfortable place and loath it? Viewed is as medication? I don't mean as in once, as an experiment, but as the behavioral change required to stop paying homage to it. (each and every time you had to take the time out to feed the craving) A cigarette is merely the medication for its own side effect.
This was my first quit in decades, before groups like this and information. I cannot test out my own theories. Your reply may help others whether you did follow through, a couple of times, all the time or not at all.
I had also asked how , knowing what you do now, how you would have changed your quit. As it was difficult, there must have been some changes. What would your quit look like if you had to do it again?
Maybe that is a question for the masses. Please respond to the initial question here, ok?
Keep being strong PuffNoMore. It will get easier as they all say. xo

Hi Happiness,
.......................These questions can be put to the masses within this community.
The inhaler of nicotine I have been using is mostly placebo. Once the nicotine was sucked into my body it was just used as an action, the action of smoking. After the nicotine was absorbed into my body it was just the hand to mouth action that I was used to when I smoked 30 cigs a day, thats alot of drags and actions i'd been used to, so that action of an empty cartridge helped when cravings were asking to be fed. I wasnt feeding my receptors but I was feeding my repetitive behaviour with the action of smoking. I dont think I can answer all of your questions here. The nicotine inhaler is another Quit smoking aide that delivers nicotine to the body and its not advocated by Allen Carr or many people like you.
The other question of doing a Quit differently, um, well, Logically and scientifically, your Smart/Cold Turkey makes alot of sense to me now.
LIKE a band-aide,,,Rip it off fast, rather than slow and prolong our pain and misery, lol.... Although, Quitting the pattern- smokes-( addiction) is very different to pulling off one ban-aide. This THING can linger! In most cases its not easy. I think once the addiction is over we have other patterns of our behaviour to deal with and that can be classed as an addictive behaviour. I'm currently dealing with this now!. I deal with it with sheer determination Not To smoke and staying in touch with this inspiring community.
Thanks everybody!

I thank you for your honest feedback PuffNoMore. I am glad you found some merit in my Post of "Have you GivenUp GivenUp" I am also glad that you finally ripped the band-aid off (slow Nicotine withdrawal) and went cold turkey. Your nicotine ADDICTION IS OVER.
I think many fear the cold turkey at the end of an NRT, and that alone can sabotage a quit. We know know that that is not the cause of your anxiety.
I have always said that the HABIT (repetitive action of smoking) and the psychological aspects of the quit (perhaps both an addiction and habit?)have to be broken , or minds retrained to a new and positive way of thinking.
A cigarette is just a remedy for its own side-effect.
You do not need a cigarette , for you have no side-effect from nicotine anymore.
You seemed to grasp the mindset and have the desire to become a non-smoker so is it just the void left by an unfilled action that distresses you?
If you haven't already , replace each trigger with a positive action. Do not use an empty inhaler as a cigarette substitute, as you are not breaking that hand to mouth habit. Every time you use the inhaler this way you are subconsciously missing the cigarette and have cravings.
Hence the inhaler has now become a remedy for its own side effect.
Maybe try my backwards quit with regard to your inhaler if that is what you are still doing. (and no i do NOT me smoke or take NRT. ) Break the habit . Do not keep it on you, or within reach. Be conscious of it. Use it uncomfortable. See how it takes up your time, rules you. Loath it. Cut down on it, break associations... etc...
Do this at your own pace. Break a trigger or two a day. Substitute it with a straw. One day you will become to think it is silly and a total waste of time.
That is what we want to retrain your mind to think. Smoking is a waste of time and money, and we are foolish to think otherwise.
I don't know if i am on the right track here PuffNoMore, but i am hoping that it may help someone who is doing just that. It does get easier. You just have to Believe what you want to Believe.
I believe you want to be a non-smoker, you have just taken a couple of detours, but the scenic route has also given you knowledge and determination . You have also dealt with your depression and finding ways to cope without the cigarettes in spite of it. You have come a long way friend, and i know you will find your way home. xo

I posted a site for you to try out. I signed up, and it will take a while, but i am hoping it might help you. No harm in signing up , it's free!

Thanks Happiness, I had a look at it and decided not to sign up to Dr Sykes coarse. From what I seen it costs between $147 and $187 US for the PREMIUM complete coarse. It sounds great, but I dont have the motivation to even try the Quick coarse that they say is FREE.
I'll eventually find other ways to relieve, stress, boredom and anxiety to the point where I no longer miss the smokes. Like tonight, where we have our Tennis Final to play. It'll distract me from missing the smokes, but after that the feeling of the "void" or the emptiness can come back.
Cheers

PuffNoMore, Best of luck for the Tennis Final, and stay strong and stay quit.

PuffNoMore, Best of luck for the Tennis Final, and stay strong and stay quit.

PuffNoMore, Best of luck for the Tennis Final, and stay strong and stay quit.

Yes, good luck with your tournament. Sorry, the site was a dud, it sounded promising, but really, it read as an outline to what my backwards quit plan is. (for free right here) So many come and give up the smokes first, like I had assumed when i had started this quit. when there is so much more to the quit. Easing into a quit while learning makes a quit more attainable and sustainable.
Keep up the positive thinking and keep busy PuffNoMore.

I hope you won your tournament and that this post finds you well. I worry when i don't see you around the community. I hope the heat wave has ended and you are finding things more bearable now. Stay positive and smoke free.

Its so good to see you back. Even better to know you haven't nixed the whole deal. You will find your own way, and you know we are all here to help. Welcome Back PuffNoMore!

Hi PuffNoMore. I really don't know whre you are on your quit given the statements. I will take some pleasure and positivity out of knowing you ate eve still a participant on the quitline. Know that i am still here and not givin up on you or any other i see on this quit line who truly want s to find their freedom. I have reitred, and in doing so had to find meaning, and since i was so blessed i am going to help other find the freedom that i did. I was torn just like i see quitters here... the old life and the new... and yes you would think reitirment would be an easy choice. Just like quitting snoking it is an idea we have to accept and i fought with it.... just like your voices in your head. I loved my job... just not the AH i worked for and when he wife started to be the same i shook m y head. I saved their business countless times. When times are good and they forget and want to sht on you, then comes a time i make a choice. I did not leave them in a bind, but i did quit ....for me.
Really i only laugh, if i had their money i would burn mine. To slave for money and ill health and resentment....... how they must hate me for having the gutts to do it and live my life how i want to. So is it with nicoline....

who knows PuffNoMore. I never thought about it... I don;t think the native grew and packaged the cigarettes, In fact some thought they might not be trusted for what they added(if they could)..... lmao ....where did the term honest in-jun come from? Actually my son -in -law is a terrific person despite his heritage. Yep, dark, Indian, Jamaican

Hi Puffnomore, I saw where you where asking what a Juul is ! Well here in America especially in deep southern Alabama, seems its very popular with children as a nicotine delivery system ( vaping ), anyway here is a link for your curiosity
https://www.juul.com
Best of luck with your quit, it will pay off in more ways than one ! I'm 64 and have quit many time's, not cigs so much, only took 2 times back in my 30's, but my addiction is with Swisher Sweet Cigarillo's, up to 12 a day at times, but now once again I've been a cold turkey quitter of 30 + days. Its been tough, with my moods, stresses, cravings, insomnia, eating, the coughing (ugh) and a few more, that your well aware of I'm sure ! Look your going to make it just remember on hour at a time, and deep breaths between, apples and showers are a great substitute for smoking.

If you follow Geos advice about showers,You will be the cleanest Man on Earth. Got i miss that show. Last Man On Earth. So Looking forward to the next season on netflix since cutting the cable years ago. Out of curiosity.... do you pay for cable ..... i pay 76 including taxes for a month unlimited, whereas i was to undrstand years ago that the US got it free.... just asking. I am glad you still share your advice PuffNoMore. You are a trooper! I am not sure i would be so magnanimous. You are a wonderful person and truly hope you can also in your own time find your way to freedom . You deserve it. Believe it !

I think netflix costs $17 a month and we do have it unlimited, its relatively new. cant say i've seen that show? I will give them up, but for now i'm just giving people some hope here and there

Well, i am sorry if you have give up on me. That's ok... I will survive,. I truly hope that you will conquer this addiction in your own way. I am sorry that i have not found the way to enable the 'LIGHT BULB" MOMENT. Just know i wish the best, and i will be here for you if there is anything else i can do. Sometines i think that comments i post may go against your belief Know tht i would never in a million years sabotage someones quitl. I know how much we could intially only dream of the freedom and living without the constant fear of cancer. We now have a chance to realize our healthy futures. , and i do wish you could too.
I do know that you want to quit. You still remain online giving advice and that is so helpful to many Advice that I cannot give because I did not experience first hand. I do try to be honest thought , and your story and YOU touched me. Take you time, I am just happy that you have not just thrown your hands up in despair. There are so man y who have come to adore and relate with you PuffNoMore. They (Yeah and I) have come to honour your stories from the heart. Believe what you tell the others PuffNoMore. Why can't it be you? You have paid your dues. You can do this. I don't understand why YOU won
't believe which is what is comes down to.
Do you love yourself? Do you love your girlfriend. ???
What about family. ? The problem you referred to , but none of our business..... did smoking help.
I get it if they don't care about you..(which i don't believe) but in that case i would say screw you too..(however hard that is, family being family) I once befreiended an 809 yr old who lost his wife and waned friendship, which we became, dutch lunches, and he was like a knowledable second father and i eve =n took my grandson on fishing ventures... ends up his family only thought i wanted his moneh and left him to die in a corner in an institution. Could'
nt event visit hin after they called the cops; Funny what money means ....
Sorry to end on a sour note. I"ve had a few hard knocks, but i survive...You can too. I and many others are here for you PuffNoMore. xo

Hello Puff no more. how are things going? sorry not been around just checking in. Pls up date me :)

Hi puffnomore, wondering how your going, miss the friendly banter, I am on day 2, bit ancy this arvo but managed, already feeling better though, not constantly clearing my throat, hope all is well

PuffNoMore, how are things going with you. How is your quit going or are you getting ready to try again. Regardless, all the best and keep strong. As with the post from Nuts above, a lot of people are wishing you the best.

Hi PuffNoMore. I have been missing your posts and hoping everything was ok with you. I am glad to see you posting again. Did reading Allan Carr help any?

Hi puffnomore, hope you are doing well, I am still quit but have a horrible sore throat, had a couple of times last week also but today is like razors, but finally coughing up crap, thinking it is touch of flu but also delay in my innerds trying to do a big clean, I am still determined though, keep in touch

You are missed. I hope all is well and you will join us again soon. Take Care. Never give up given up!

Hi puffnomore, hope this finds you well, I do miss your friendly banter, let us know no how you are travelling, I check this site to see if you are keeping in touch with newbies but haven’t seen anything. Nuts is powering on and giving lots of sound advice, don’t forget you helped us a lot.

Hi puffnomore, hope this post finds you well, sometimes it is about prioritising, I too had to wait until I thought I had a clear path, can never be sure stuff won’t happen but if you are in a good place mentally and physically then you have a better shot. A lot has happened on the site, (I hope you read even if not posting). They changed format and i became “top news” which seemingly uncovered our long old postings, good reading if you are up to it. It made it hard to post, anyways I hardly come on anymore, but will always be interested in how you and nuts are going. No matter how long it takes, please let me know that you are still going to be a quitter, like the rest of us, I know you will get there, but don’t beat yourself up, you deserve this as much as any of us. Rest, recover and then pick yourself up and go again. You can do it.

Hi friends,
I dont know when I'll Quit. I gave it my all last year and at 55 days I had it beat. I was pumped to stay Quit, but I gave in and the rest is history. An expensive slip-up...
I'll remain in the background, looking and reading, in the hope that the penny will drop for me to make another Quit happen. As a smoker, I dont feel I'm entitled to give advice now.
Thank you for all the well wishers and support, but I have to re-learn to help myself before I can help others.
I'll be back as a non-smoker I hope soon.

Hi Red,
I have received an email directly from the Cancer Institute NSW today. I'm assuming you got it too? It illustrates that they have been listening and paying attention and I'm happy enough with their explanation. Having said that, I dont think they realize that the new paging system is irritating and Is the main problem now! I think we can all live with the top story section if, as they predict, will attract new members to participate?
I'll assume ICanQuit and the Cancer Institute know what their doing and thus will not complain.
I'm sitting on the fence for now to let them monitor this over the next few weeks.
If I have any concerns or complaints after this period, I have the email address now to do so.
Take care Red

Thanks puffnomore, I am 86 days, very close, so nice to hear from you, hope you are doing well, I will be glad to smash 100 days

Hi puffnomore, wanted to say hi before I say bye, I don’t post much but always read for inspiration, not sure if you check and read but I always think of you and nuts, anyway, i am quit annoyed with the recent posts, by happiness and discussing smoking pot, it appears quite hypocritical of her with all the posts and comments she makes. I no longer want to be a part of it, I want to ask if you ever need too please update me by hitting my login, I will check in from time to time for you and nuts, but this is not currently feeling inspirational for me, thank you for all your help and support

Good to have you back buddy.l Hope life is treating you well. We can chat here where it is somewhat private if you like although the older members will remember i am sure. Nuts is doing well and Broncor seemed good last i heard of her. My neighbours smoke pot, and i smell it all the time and kinda wanted to try it because I heard it helps you to sleep and because since i quit smoking, too much wine does not agree with me. Broncor took offense when I brought the subject up, even though in the end i had to agree that inhaling anything would be counter productive. I hope she will come back. I am sure she will say hi to you if she realizes that you are back. She and Nuts were good for you, but unfortunately didn't have any more luck than i did in helping you.
Keep reading and commenting PuffNoMore. I am still hoping as you are that something will "resonate"
Good to know you are back where you belong.

Hi. Curious. it is a valid e-mail address. He/she may respond to my mail or not.

Hi Happ,
I was curious as to the e-mail as a name.
It may be just another way of accessing this site? and nothing for concern and may see more connecting here that way? The cyber world is connecting in more ways than ever now and thats usually a good thing. You can let me know here if you get a reply from that person if you like as I'm not that curious or alarmed now.
Its certainly nothing like the bombardment we got last month! Lol
Cheers to connectivity!!!
