Just over 3 years 4 months quit and still marveling that it has been possible to quit after 53 years of total nicotine poison addiction.

First cigarette I had with my mate at 14 made me violently sick. But I persisted with the second one and achieved a lifelong habit which cost me 3 heart stents about £200000 and a lifetime of addiction misery generally.

Thanks Icanquit and all my peers on this site for a much appreciated freedom.

The list of positives is endless and the rewards fantastic.

That's so wonderful for you Dobbin. The effort to quit is so little compared to the great rewards.!

Hi Dobbin. Good to "see" you again on this site. Am still paving the way at 100 days ahead of you. The pressure is on to always have this number between our quit dates. Whenever I reach a "milestone" and say no to Margaret Thatcher, I remind myself it is important for me to remain 100 days ahead. Again, we know it is not a race. With every passing day it becomes more firmly embedded in the thinking process that this must not change.
