Hello all I’m on my 3rd quit attempt, 1st for 3 months, 2nd time 6 weeks and was stuck with horrible anxiety. Because of the awful experience of my last quit I’m so scared and putting loads of doubt and pressure on myself. I lost my dad last January from cancer so I know I’m done with smoking an I’m starting IVF in April. I attempted to quit to days ago and wasn’t successful as I slipped up and have had 6 other the past 2 days. Please give me some hints and distraction ideas.

Stay positive and just remember we are capable of anything if we put our minds to it. Take a walk, clean out a cupboard, sit by the water (if possible) take a drive, write a story, read a book ect when the cravings strike. Get rid of all your ashtrays, butts and put lighters away. Give a friend or relative a call and share your journey with them. Hope this helps and good luck with your journey
Thank you I’m going to give these ago, I do really well until I know there a smokes around me. Unfortunately my husband isn’t able to quit right now due to stress with study and work. I do a lot of focus on myself and allow him to quit when he is ready, but habit kicks in and takes control of that.

Maybe get hubby to leave his smokes in the car or some place you can't reach. I commend you for giving up while your hubby still smokes...i dont think i could do that.

Good luck Gemma,
Chew gum and get a haircut. It's been said that getting a haircut is somewhat like having a new beginning. Be patient and ask your your hubby to smoke out of your site.
