Staying quit

A fellow quitter reminded me about a book “Never Take Another Puff” by Joel Spitzer that is very helpful and useful in my smoke free journey: http://whyquit.com/joel/ntap.pdf

I finished reading it a couple of weeks ago. Joel’s one point about starting up smoking again, during stressful times, really stuck with me. Fast forward to today and something really stressful happened this morning that made me want to light up. Went to work where I was in a company of smokers, so bumming a smoke was really tempting and would've been very easy. However, in his book Joel says –

Question - Will your problem go away if you do smoke that cig?

Answer - No.

Question - Will another problem occur if you do smoke that cig?

Answer - Yes, because you'll be hooked again.

So, instead of the one original problem you now have two problems to deal with.

No thank you. Didn't light up after all. It's been 8 months and 8 days (253 days) smoke free for me but nicotine/cigarette terrorists still sneak up occasionally. One needs to be vigilant. Stay strong everyone and thanks for the reminder Brooky.
