Hi There,

Today is the day I am having my last cigarette forever. I have tried a number of times to quit, my longest almost 8 months without those bloody things, but always start up again. Today also is my non smoker husbands 45th birthday and I want to celebrate many more with him! I have been a smoker for 30 years and whilst I can see a life without cigarettes, I fear I do not have enough will power to get there. The stories I have read on this website has me determined to try harder and if I can muster the strength like you all have I will get there. PS the last five cigarettes I had in my packet are now in the bin!

Give the best present ever to your hubby on his birthday!

Many say they dream of quitting smoking, they hope, they pray......Some dream of a vacation or worldly things. Dreams can come true, but they are subconsciously worked towards. Money saved, promotions and other things may help, but will power is not needed for things that we desire.

Many fear the quit. Perhaps they are afraid of failure, but the only time they fail is when they give up on themselves. Those who think positive and keep at it will win eventually. When we believe that it is possible it IS.

Quitting smoking can be hard, but I have also had many say how much easier it was than they thought. Cravings are but thoughts, an itch to scratch.

Just the thought of lice has us scratching our heads. We can have our heads examined and the reassurance that all is well and then let it go. It is much the same with quitting smoking.

I didn't even get the smokers flu which I expected and had accepted to take on. I was willing to feel unwell for a few days while for the benefits to come. Meanwhile I had joined a site like this for information and inspiration. The mind is the most powerful tool that we can possess. Make your mind up!

We know that you can do this Mish

Most of us here never thought that we would quit after decades of smoking.

You Can do this. Keep thinking positive and believe!

Stay strong and committed and get past the tricky bit's and remain smoke-free.

Those temptation's will not affect you if you truly believe in yourself.
