First Day - West of Ireland

Hello All, and thanks very much for the chance to be part of your group.
Today at 1pm I quit smoking and looking forward to sharing my story as I progress over the next few weeks.
the first few hours were always the worst for me in previous attempts, I would set a date, get all riled up and start the day with great intentions.
This never worked, by 11am I had those damn nagging doubts, ''perhaps tomorrow is a better day to start'' And so over the past few months I have changed my smoking habits to smoking during the day but not when I get home in the evening.
this I hope plays well for me on the first day, as I am used to not smoking in the evening and so when the nags hit tomorrow at 11 I will be almost a full day free and hopefully motivated to keep going.
I've been smoking since I was around 14 and now shamefully still at it at 52 years of age I did quit for almost a year and half, but that's so long ago now it has no relevance except to encourage me its possible.
I long for the day I am liberated from this appalling addiction
Talk soon

oh yep , most of us know the feeling. it can feel shameful in this day and age, Terrible addiction to boot. Alas, It is ended with the LAST Puff. It does not matter how that comes about in the end. All that matters is when the last cigarette is smoked.
Be certain you have that last puff of the putrid, expensive, deadly habit/addiction,love or HATE terminated.
If that animal is fed. it will keep coming back, just like any animal.
Call it Quits and soon you will be Free.
Top off the day to you.

Hi. This time it may help to know that you are not alone. We understand, and we are proof that we CAN quit smoking. This time around stay and read our stories. Learn how nicotine is an ADDICTION which can be dealt with easily in short order, but that it is the decades of habit that lingers on. We need to CHANGE how we look at cigarettes. We need to LEARN how we were brainwashed. Once understanding why we started smoking, how we were drugged and brainwashed, and how we are stronger than that addiction can we make a break permanently. You were smoke = free over a year but were you free of the yearning to smoke? Did you dare to have that dreaded "just one"?
Desire you freedom more than a life of smoking. Learn the mindset to stay free. There is no willpower needed to do what you WANT to do. Simply Change how you perceive smoking .
Change your mind....Change you Life....
QUITTING SMOKING CAN BE EASY!

Thanks very much guys for taking the time to read and respond. Wonderful to share your insights.
